Chapter 242
CHAPTER 149
LILIANA’S POV
6172
“I call on my family’s maid.” I called out in a loud and clear tone, and the smile slipped from Tony’s face.
“How is she relevant to your case?” the judge asked shrewdly.
I eyed him, disgusted by him. “She knows everything that happened and those involved. She has also been helping me gather evidence.”
“Apart from her, is there any other evidence?” the man asked.
“There was supposed to be someone else, but I believe he knows what happened to her more than I do.” I said, referring to my brother.
“Who is this person you speak of?”
“Fiona. My stepbrother’s wife.” I stated.
Again I could hear murmurs among the people present. I saw Tony exchange a look with the man, and he nodded at him.
The man cleared his throat, a sound I was beginning to hate. “Fiona, who you claim is your evidence, was found out to be a spy for a rival pack and was punished adequately,” the man said.
“What do you mean by being punished adequately?” I wanted to know.
“Well, she was sentenced to death by dismemberment,” the man explained.
“Oh,” was all I could manage to say. I suspected she was dead, but actually hearing she was dead hit me like a mental fist.
“How come we are just hearing of this?” The elderly man from earlier challenged the judge, getting to his feet.
“She was the. Spouse of our alpha. We didn’t want her execution to be made public.” The man had a response for everything.
I was beside myself with fury. I vowed I was going to avenge her.
The maid was called up, and she stood before me and my brother. I smiled reassuringly at her, but the maid didn’t return the smile.
Why does she look so stiff?
I wondered about that, thinking the woman was too nervous.

“It’s okay. Tell them everything you know.” I urged believing there was no way the man could cover things up anymore after the maid’s
testimony.
“Are you sure?” the maid asked me, and I nodded at her, giving my permission.
“Tell us what you know.”
The maid looked at me then, and I had a sinking feeling that all wasn’t going the way I wanted.
She pointed at me, still staring me in the face.
“All I know is that she is the murderer of the former alpha, and she ran away to avoid being sentenced.”
I stared open-mouthed at the maid. Now she was avoiding my gaze, and my brother was smiling again, drumming his fingers against his
lap.
The maid was led away. But the elderly werewolf wasn’t satisfied. Suspecting something wasn’t right.
“Liliana, what do you want to do?” He asked softly, ignoring the judge.
I pointed at Tony. “I want him thrown in the dungeons and punished for what he did to my father and me.”
The man looked at my stepbrother. “Is there something you would like to say?”
Tony lazily stood up from his throne. “In regard to the letter, yes, I admit to plotting to kill her, but that was after I found out what she did and that she intended to run away.”
“Let’s settle this thing once and for all. I never framed her because the truth is she did commit the crime. But I’m willing to let that all go if she can defeat me.”
