My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 250

It was already late when Lily finally wrapped up her meetings. She had planned to leave after seeing Jabco, but two more urgent meetings came up one after another. By the time everything was done, it was past seven in the evening. She had told Danish she would be late, but she still felt uneasy.

She walked out of the restaurant after having dinner with her clients when she heard someone call her from behind.

“Miss Collins.”

Lily turned and saw Riyana. Behind her stood Jabco.

“What are you two doing here?” Lily asked.

“We had a dinner meeting,” Riyana said. “We saw you coming out, so boss told me to stop you. We’re leaving too. Why don’t we give you a ride?”

Lily checked the time. This area was a bit outside the city. If she waited for a taxi, it would take forever. She nodded.

“Alright. But he looks busy.” She tilted her chin toward Jabco, who was talking to a beautiful woman and laughing.

“Oh, she’s our new client. She’s from Germany,” Riyana said like it was nothing.

Lily raised her brows. “She seems interested in him. Look how touchy she is.”

“She’s married,” Riyana replied.

“Married? Does that stop anyone?” Lily muttered.

Riyana smiled. She knew Lily was trying to tease her on purpose.

“Miss Collins, don’t try with me. Even if I admitted my feelings to you, you can’t prove anything to him. He has zero interest in me, so leave it,” she said.

Lily shook her head. “You’re impossible.”

They both laughed.

“What is he going to do after you leave? I swear he’ll die,” Lily joked.

“He’ll be fine. He will hire someone more capable than me. One person leaving won’t kill him,” Riyana said.

Lily nodded in understanding. “True.”

“But are you really leaving this job? I thought he paid you very well,” Lily added.

“It’s not about the salary. He pays me more than enough. But I want to move on with my life now,” Riyana said.

Lily nodded again. If she had left David before she married him, she wouldn’t have suffered the way she did. She respected Riyana for choosing herself.

Lily’s phone rang. “It’s my son. I’ll wait outside, okay?” she said and walked out while answering.

“Yes, sweetie, did you have your dinner?” Lily asked as she stepped into the cold air.

“Yes, Mum. What about you?” Danish asked in his small voice.

“I just ate. Sleep with Grandma, okay? I’ll be late,” she said.

Outside the restaurant, the cold wind brushed against Lily’s cheeks as she slipped her phone back into her pocket. She was about to take a step forward when a black van rolled up beside her. She barely glanced at it. The door slid open fast. A hand grabbed her waist and another covered her mouth. Her scream never made it out. Her phone fell from her hand, screen lighting up on the pavement.
