My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 226

Even as she sat on the flight to Southborough, Jensen's parting words echoed relentlessly in Rebekah's mind.

"Go back and wait for me."

Wait for him?

Wait for him in Southborough?

What was that supposed to mean?

As the plane soared through the heavy clouds, Rebekah lost herself in the view outside the window. When Xavier finally called her name, she turned her head, her eyes still clouded with unresolved thoughts.

"What's wrong, Xavier?"

Sitting right beside her, Xavier rested his chin on his hand, studying her intensely.

"Are you feeling sad, Rebekah?"

Ever since they boarded the flight, she had practically been glued to the window.

She was entirely too quiet, wrapped in a fragile, melancholic aura that was hard to define but impossible to ignore.

Xavier had exchanged a quick, knowing look with Caleb before taking it upon himself to play the role of the compassionate older brother.

Rebekah looked across the aisle at him.

She could see the naked concern burning in his eyes.

"Look, I've heard bits and pieces about you and Benjamin," Xavier said gently. "A man who messes around with his wife's sister? You don't need trash like that in your life. And as for that son of yours, I know blood is hard to ignore, but people make their own choices. If he chose Benjamin over you, then just pretend you never had him..."

"Xavier."

Caleb snapped from the neighboring seat, glaring at his brother.

Why on earth was he bringing those two up right now?

Realizing his mistake, Xavier winced and lightly slapped his own mouth. He quickly turned back to Rebekah, continuing his comfort.

"Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you're coming home now. Let the past stay in the past. Once you're officially back with the Powell family, you'll have us to protect you. No one will ever bully you again."

Rebekah looked from Xavier to her eldest and second-eldest brothers sitting nearby.

She offered them a soft, reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, guys. I'm totally fine. I was just thinking about something a friend said to me."

The second she had boarded this plane, she had severed every single tie to The Capital.

After sending her new contact information to the few friends who mattered, she completely trashed her old SIM card.
