My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 228

A heavy, overwhelming sensation swelled in Rebekah's chest.

It was incredibly warm, yet laced with a heartbreaking ache.

The cabinet was incredibly deep, and the walls were lined with custom display shelves practically overflowing with dolls and action figures.

Many of them were rare, vintage editions of famous characters from years past.

There were limited-edition race cars, Iron Man figures, massive Lego sets, Rubik's cubes, puzzles...

An entire childhood's worth of treasures, meticulously collected and preserved.

Xavier stood beside Rebekah, pointing to a sleek, die-cast race car model sitting in the corner. His chest puffed out with unmistakable pride.

"I won that when I was seven at the city's junior automotive assembly championship. I specifically saved it for you. I figured that when my little sister finally came home, she would definitely love racing cars."

Xavier looked at her expectantly.

"Do you like racing, Rebekah?"

She nodded. "I love it. Actually, I used to race."

She reached down and gently picked up the model car, almost able to picture a proud, bright-eyed seven-year-old boy clutching his hard-earned trophy.

The second she mentioned she had racing experience, Xavier's eyes lit up.

"Wait, you actually raced? When? Where?"

Rebekah did some quick mental math, sifting through the memories.

"It was probably ten years ago. I secretly entered an underground circuit in The Capital and ended up taking first place."

Ten years ago.

Xavier froze as the puzzle pieces slammed into place. He looked at her with wild, unrestrained shock.

"Were you... Did you race at the Zephyr's Edge mountain circuit?"

"I did."

Xavier suddenly grabbed her by the shoulders, his eyes turning red, practically overflowing with manic excitement.

"Xavier... what's going on?"

"We... we met ten years ago."

He whispered, his voice cracking with emotion.
