Chapter 224
The flavor was exquisite.
Watching Ray swallow a bite, Shane and Alina couldn’t help but gulp, their mouths watering uncontrollably.
Shane was furious. It was just a little harmless bullying back in school! Besides, hadn’t Ray already gotten his revenge?
He clenched his fists in frustration and thought, ‘I clearly remember being beaten by him that day- otherwise, how could I have learned my lesson and stopped bothering him? And now… he still holds a grudge? Pathetic. So petty.‘
He didn’t want to look anymore and stomped off to another room in a huff, but the smell of hot pot was too strong. It seeped through the door cracks, teasing him relentlessly. Saliva pooled in his mouth. He couldn’t resist–he was far too hungry.
Ray spoke calmly, “Shane, wanting hot pot isn’t a problem. But if you want some, you’ll need to trade for what I want.”
Shane’s eyes lit up. He rushed out eagerly. “Anything! You want anything, I’ll give it!”
Ray’s smile turned wicked. He looked at Alina. “I want to borrow your wife.”
Borrow his wife–what the hell?!
Shane immediately understood, his face red with rage. “You bastard! You want to sleep with my wife?!” “Yes,” Ray said plainly, not even bothering to hide it.
After absorbing the abilities, his desires had skyrocketed. Add in the old grudges with Shane, and letting this pass was never an option.
That was also why he had taken such a roundabout route instead of confronting them immediately. Otherwise, he could have bargained with food and gone straight to the bedroom. But now… he wanted to humiliate Shane. Truly, completely humiliate him.
‘Yeah, I am a little perverse,‘ Ray thought, smirking. But he felt no guilt. In a world like this, everyone’s mood was suppressed. If he didn’t vent in some way, he’d explode.
Shane fumed, itching to hit Ray, but thought better of it. Earlier, he’d tried to kick Ray out and failed–no need to embarrass himself further.
The real problem? Ray was sitting in his house, eating hot pot. Every bite, every tantalizing aroma… Shane’s stomach growled. How long had it been since he’d tasted proper meat? He was so hungry…
Ray glanced at Alina. “What about you? Will you sleep with me? The body is yours. You can decide for yourself. I’m not going to let a middleman profit.”

ove Alina could reply. Shane interjected, his face red, shouting. “Ray, even if I starve to death, I won’t
touch your food
Fine, respect where it’s due.
Ray smirked. “Suit yourself. I have a habit of not forcing people.”
Of course, anyone unwilling to comply was already dead. So, the statement wasn’t exactly untrue.
He went back to eating, taking a sip from a bottle of beer. Hot pot and beer–what could be better than
that?
Shane and Alina’s defenses completely crumbled. They were starving–and thirsty, too. Hunger was bad, but thirst… thirst was unbearable. The last water had run out two days ago, and yesterday, they’d finished
the last of their food.
Watching Ray gulp down a glass of beer, they licked their lips, but they were so dry that no moisture
came.
They couldn’t hold it in. They just couldn’t.
“Ray, change the conditions!” Shane shouted, desperation in his eyes. “There’s so much valuable stuff in this house–luxury cars, antiques–take whatever you want! Just let us eat and drink!”
He was being humble enough, wasn’t he?
