Chapter 74
Ray smiled as the door to the otherworldly dimensional space silently opened.
He pretended to lower his head, the beam of the flashlight sweeping across the ground.
Now.
Moe charged first.
“Die!” he roared.
It was the signal.
Troy and the other five saw Moe rush forward and immediately followed with a shout, all of them surging toward Ray.
Then–one by one–they vanished. No sound. No trace.
Ray swept the space with his mind. Inside the other dimension now lay six lifelike corpses. Their expressions were vivid–ferocious, twisted–yet each still carried a faint hint of fear.
Huh. That meant people didn’t die instantly after entering the other space. There was a process.
Even if that process was incredibly brief.
Heh. These people had planned to do him harm–was he supposed to spare them?
Their only purpose had been to bring pain and humiliation to the Gantt family. That purpose had already been fulfilled. What reason was there to keep them alive?
Ray smiled.
With a thought, he dumped all six bodies back out of the other space.
That space was filled with supplies. Even knowing there would be no “contamination,” the idea of storing resources alongside corpses still made him uncomfortable.
He took photos of the six bodies with his phone, then returned to the villa.
He sent the pictures to his ex–wife.
He didn’t know whether Lauren’s phone still had any battery left… hopefully it did.
No reply came for a long time.
Ray sighed. It looked like her phone was dead.
Forget it. He just wouldn’t get to rub salt into the wound.
He went to take a shower. Afterward, he was about to sleep when he glanced at his phone again–and saw that Lauren had replied.
Lauren: [You killed those six monsters?!!!!]

She was clearly overwhelmed, the message packed with exclamation points.
Ray smiled and replied: [Yes.]
Lauren: [Ray, thank you! I knew you still had feelings for me!]
Lauren was so excited that she was on the verge of tears. She had been violated by six vicious men, but if that suffering could awaken Ray’s sympathy and protective instincts, then it was worth it.
She could live in a grand villa, eat good food, and never worry about survival again.
She immediately called him.
“Ray, I’ll come to you right now, okay?”
“Hmm? Don’t you think you’ve misunderstood something?” Ray said with a smile.
“It’s true that I killed Moe and his gang. But the reason they went to your place was because I threatened them. If they didn’t go, I would’ve killed them.
“That’s why, just to stay alive, they went after your dad and your brother too. Otherwise, why do you think they’d have such twisted tastes?”
If you do something bad, how can you not leave your name behind?
He needed Lauren to hate him. He need her to regret everything–deeply.
Lauren couldn’t believe it.
The phone slipped from her hand and hit the floor.
“Lauren, you jinx!” Josh’s furious roar rang out.
She had made a catastrophic mistake.
She had put the call on speaker.
She’d been too excited–convinced that Ray still loved her, that he’d killed those men for her. She couldn’t wait to show off in front of her parents and younger brother.
All the while, she was thinking, ‘Look at me. I’m going to be the lady of a villa now. If you want to live there too, you’d better start flattering me.‘
And then… Joy turned instantly into disaster.
Those six men had been sent by Ray.
Josh was a man in his early sixties–and he had been violated, brutally, one after another by six men.
Just imagine how much rage, humiliation, and despair were boiling inside that old man.
And all of it… was because of Ray.
