And why did Ray choose to take revenge on the Gantt family like this?
Because Lauren cheated first–no, more than that. She got herself pregnant and, in a panic, found some unlucky. fool to take the fall. How could she blame Ray for being furious?
So everything stemmed from Lauren.
If not for her, how would her family have suffered so much, endured such torment?
Back when there was compensation money to be had, they’d treated her like a treasure, coaxing and indulging her. But now?
It was the sixth day since the natural disaster. What use was money anymore?
At least 99 percent of people had already realized it: all that former wealth had turned into bubbles–nothing but useless paper and meaningless numbers. Food and clean water–that was real wealth now.
Given that, why would they still care about Lauren?
Especially when–damn it–his own ass had been violated because of his wretched daughter?
Unforgivable.
Josh couldn’t take it anymore. He kicked off his slipper and lashed out at Lauren with it.
She dodged, but Max and Daisy joined in. Before long, they had her pinned down, beating her wildly.
By the time they were done, Lauren’s face was covered in blood, swollen like a pig’s head.
Only then did Josh pick up the phone. In a sycophantic tone, he said, “Ray, we’ll deliver Lauren to you, tied up. In return, you give us one box of instant noodles and one box of water. How about it?”
Lauren lay on the floor, groaning in pain, unable to speak.
Her own father was selling her off just like that.
And yet she wasn’t all that surprised. After being thrown out of the house twice, she should have understood by now.
“Ray, just take Lauren back,” Max chimed in from the side with a snicker. As he spoke, he rubbed his backside. It hurt like hell–burning, tearing pain. It had definitely split open.
But there was no chance in hell that Ray would possibly agree to it. What he wanted was their utter despair- family turning on family, until they all destroyed one another.
“Hahaha.” He laughed loudly and hung up.
‘Lauren, Lauren–doesn’t it feel good to be stabbed in the back by your own family?‘ he smirked inwardly.
Josh glanced at his daughter. The more he looked at her, the angrier he became.

“Dad, I’m starving,” Max said.
Moe and his men hadn’t just violated them–they’d also used up every last scrap of food and clean water in the house. The family had gone hungry for more than a full day.
A sharp glint flashed in Josh’s eyes. “Tie this bitch up.”
Max hesitated. “Dad… you’re not thinking of eating Lauren, are you?”
Lauren shuddered violently, staring at Josh in disbelief.
He wouldn’t… would he?
Josh waved his hand impatiently. “Why are you asking so many questions? I told you to tie her up. Stop talking nonsense.”
“Oh.” Max went to find some rope. Father and son worked together to bind Lauren.
Two grown men—even after a day without food–were more than she could handle. Besides, she’d been starving just as long.
