My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 107

Mrs. Sullivan evaluated Sienna, her eyes lingering for a second on her slightly swelling stomach, and her smile deepened.

"Where is Sebastian? Did he not come with you?"

"Sebastian was caught up with work at the company, so I came alone," Sienna replied, injecting a hint of carefully calculated sorrow into her voice. "He's been so busy lately, always working incredibly late."

Mrs. Sullivan immediately comforted her. "Men are like that, dear. Their careers come first. Don't let it upset you. Once this project passes, he'll have more time."

Sienna lowered her eyes and offered a soft, "Mhm."

But she knew Mrs. Sullivan was a shrewd woman; she didn't need to spell everything out.

Right on cue, Mrs. Sullivan sharply shifted the conversation.

"Is that Seraphina still haunting him?" Mrs. Sullivan demanded bluntly.

Sienna bit her lip, forcing tears to pool in her eyes.

Mrs. Sullivan scoffed bitterly. "I knew it. That woman is deeply manipulative. She used to act so innocent and pure, but who knows what sick schemes she was running behind our backs."

"Mrs. Sullivan, please don't say that..." Sienna whispered softly, while a triumphant gleam flashed in her eyes.

This was exactly what she wanted: Mrs. Sullivan's unbridled hatred for Seraphina.

"Why shouldn't I say it?" Mrs. Sullivan's anger flared. "If she had just quietly moved on, I wouldn't care. But she's parading around town. Does she really think marrying Lucian Langford turns her into royalty? Let me tell you, in a family like the Langfords, she won't last a year."

Sienna's voice was the epitome of gentle heartbreak. "But Sebastian... he still can't seem to let her go."

"Can't let her go?" Mrs. Sullivan sneered. "He will let her go. Seraphina is pregnant with Langford's bastard now; she has absolutely nothing to do with the Sullivan family. If Sebastian can't get that through his head, I'll beat it into him myself."

Sienna looked up, her eyes brimming with sheer gratitude. "Mrs. Sullivan, thank you so much..."

"For what?" Mrs. Sullivan patted the back of her hand affectionately. "You are carrying the Sullivan family's first grandchild. If I don't protect you, who will?"

Sienna's eyes heated with genuine emotion this time.
