Lucian glanced at the caller ID and frowned slightly, but he didn't step away from Seraphina. He answered the call right there.
"Speak."
It was his executive assistant, Christian Chase, whose voice drifted faintly through the receiver.
"Boss, the bidding proposal for The Eastside Plot is ready. We've tentatively probed their reserve price at around one point eight billion dollars. Should we increase our margin by another two percent?"
He knew Lucian was dead set on securing this parcel of land.
Lucian pondered for a moment. "It's a prime location. Add the margin. Anything under two point two billion dollars is acceptable. What about the other conglomerates?"
Knowing the enemy was the key to victory.
"The Sullivan Group, the Zeller family, and Westgate Holdings from the south have all shown interest. The Sullivan Group seems particularly determined. I heard Sebastian is overseeing this project personally."
At the mention of 'Sebastian', Lucian's brow furrowed slightly.
He instinctively cast a glance at Seraphina.
She was looking down, taking a sip of water, her expression completely unchanged as if she hadn't even heard the name.
"Keep an eye on them. Figure out everyone's bidding ranges, and get me a detailed assessment before next week," Lucian instructed calmly.
"Understood, Boss. Also, someone from the government sector leaked some news suggesting there might be major developments around the Eastside area in the coming years. The specific planning hasn't been finalized yet. Should we investigate further?"
Lucian was about to speak—
When Little Bean suddenly kicked hard against Seraphina's stomach, acting frantic.
"Mommy, Mommy! Don't let him bid on that land!"
