"On the other hand, The Riverside Parcel right next to it—the one no one is looking at—is slated to become a massive wetland park the year after next. If someone acquired that land now, its value would easily triple once the park development is officially announced."

Seraphina tried her best to keep her tone casual. "You might want to double-check this before you proceed."

Lucian's eyebrows knit together.

"Where did you hear this?" It wasn't that he doubted her; it was just that internal city planning secrets rarely leaked so casually.

Seraphina rarely involved herself in his business affairs, so offering such specific intelligence caught him off guard.

Seraphina already had her alibi prepared. "I overheard someone mention it at Mrs. Lyndon's gathering today. I think it was the wife of someone from The Department of City Planning. I have no idea if it's true, but since you're doing your research anyway, it couldn't hurt to investigate for your own peace of mind."

Lucian studied her face for a couple of seconds before a slow smile spread across his lips.

"Alright, I'll have my team look into it."
