My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 154

But he didn't say anything of the sort.

Seraphina lowered her eyelashes as a small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. "Okay."

Little Bean laughed. "Mom, look, look! Dad really does care about you! His eyes were so serious when he said that!"

Seraphina offered a quiet mental agreement, a warm feeling blossoming in her chest.

Seeing her quiet, Lucian assumed she was still dwelling on the gala. "I'll handle Melody," he added.

"If she's attending an event in the future, you don't have to go if you don't want to."

She replied softly, "Alright."

Lucian's gaze lingered on her face for a couple of seconds.

Satisfied that she seemed fine, he looked away and leaned back against his seat.

A comfortable silence settled over the car, but Little Bean simply couldn't sit still. "Mom, even though Dad looks all cold on the outside, he's totally sneaking glances at you!"

"I saw it! He just opened his eyes to peek at you multiple times!"

Seraphina felt the tips of her ears burn. "Don't talk nonsense," she scolded mentally.

"I'm not talking nonsense!" Little Bean protested indignantly.

"Your face is blushing, Mom! Don't think I can't tell!"

Taking a deep breath, Seraphina decided to ignore her chatty passenger and turned to look out the window.

It suddenly hit her—it had been a very long time since anyone had protected her like this.

The car pulled up in front of an exclusive private restaurant.

Lucian opened his eyes and glanced at her. "You haven't had dinner yet, right?"

Seraphina blinked, just realizing she had barely touched any food at the banquet.

Before she could answer, Little Bean shrieked excitedly in her belly. "Eat, eat, eat! Mom, I want good food! Dad knows me so well!"

Seraphina nodded. "Yeah, I am a bit hungry."

They stepped out of the car, and Lucian naturally walked beside her, intentionally slowing his pace to match hers.

The restaurant was intimate and secluded. Lucian had clearly made reservations, as the server led them straight to a private dining room.
