My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 173

Brody lit a cigarette and took a drag before asking, "And the guy she's with?"

"Lucian Langford. He's a Langford."

Brody froze mid-drag. He narrowed his eyes at Zelda, wondering if the woman had lost her damn mind.

His voice remained low, but the tone turned deadly serious. "Are you psychotic? You want to mess with the Langfords?"

"That's exactly why I came to you."

Zelda leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a seductive whisper meant only for him.

Her hand trailed down his arm. "You've been running the streets for years, Brody. I'm not asking for a massacre. Just make sure she never shows her face in front of my daughter again."

Brody didn't speak immediately, just stared at her through the haze of smoke.

"Zelda, this isn't our first rodeo."

His voice was remarkably steady. "Every time you ask me for a favor, when have I ever turned you down?"

Zelda remained silent.

"Tell me, how much do you owe me by now?"

Zelda lowered her eyes, but Brody caught her chin, forcing her to look at him.

"This is a massive risk."

"Do you honestly not know what happens when you touch someone belonging to Lucian Langford?"

Zelda's voice grew tight. "I know."

"You know, and you still want me to do it?"

Zelda lifted her hand and covered his.

"You're the only man I can rely on, Big Brody."

Brody stared deeply into her eyes for several long seconds.

He let go of her chin.

"Fine," he muttered.

Zelda let out a long breath of relief.

Brody leaned back against the headboard and patted his lap.

Biting her lip, Zelda stood up and straddled him.

She moved with practiced ease, entirely devoid of hesitation. As she pressed her body against his, Brody's hands instinctively gripped her hips.

They had danced this dangerous waltz countless times before.

With his hands bruising her skin, Brody tilted his head up to meet her gaze.
