Or better yet, she could create her own opportunity.
Melody stood up, grabbed her purse, and confidently strode out of the villa.
Harmony's car was already idling in the driveway.
Seeing Melody approach, Harmony's eyes lit up. "Melody, you look absolutely gorgeous tonight!"
Melody offered a modest smile as she opened the passenger door and slid in.
"Where did you even get that dress?" Harmony asked, pulling away from the curb. "It's stunning."
"I picked it up abroad."
"No wonder. I haven't seen anything like it around here."
Harmony paused, casting a sideways glance. "You're really dressed to kill tonight. Are you expecting to run into someone special?"
Melody kept her tone effortlessly casual. "No, I just haven't been out in a while. I felt like dressing up."
Harmony smiled, sensing she didn't want to pry, and dropped the subject.
The car eventually pulled up to the glittering entrance of The Nocturne Lounge.
Melody stepped out, immediately spotting several familiar faces from their high-society circle lingering near the doors.
As she made her grand entrance, someone let out a low whistle.
"Melody, you're looking incredible tonight!"
She offered a polite, distant smile without a word, her heels clicking against the pavement as she glided inside.
Harmony trailed behind her, leading the way to a reserved VIP booth on the second floor that boasted a perfect view of the entire club.
Taking her seat, Melody ordered a cocktail and leaned back against the plush leather sofa.
A few men attempted to strike up a conversation, but she maintained an icy, unapproachable demeanor. Realizing she had zero interest in chatting, they quickly took the hint and backed off.
Sitting quietly in the booth, Melody checked the time and decided she had waited long enough.
She took a delicate sip of her drink, then turned to Harmony. "I'm going to run to the restroom."
Harmony, deep in conversation with a friend, simply nodded. "Go ahead."
But Melody didn't head for the restroom.
Instead, she descended the stairs, navigated the pulsating dance floor, and walked straight toward the bustling main bar on the first level.
She slid onto a vacant barstool and signaled the bartender for another drink.
Reaching into her purse, she pulled out her phone and found Lucian's number.
She didn't press dial right away.
