My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 209

Maxwell closed his laptop and looked at Sebastian, quietly waiting for his final decision.

Sebastian slumped back in his leather chair, a wave of sheer exhaustion washing over him. "Contact the Langford legal team for now. Let me think about the rest."

Maxwell gave a crisp nod, stood up, and exited the conference room.

Sebastian still had not decided whether to officially throw Sienna to the wolves.

It was not out of some misplaced sense of mercy. He was terrified of the damage she could do if cornered.

That woman was completely unhinged. If she felt her back against the wall, there was no telling what kind of collateral damage she would inflict.

...

Meanwhile, at the Simmons Estate.

Ever since fleeing the convention center, Sienna had locked herself in her bedroom.

She buried her face into her silk pillows, her mind spiraling in absolute panic.

Suddenly, she bolted upright, lunged for her phone on the nightstand, and frantically dialed Lucas's number.

The phone rang agonizingly long before it finally connected.

Lucas's voice carried a hint of eager surprise. "Sienna?"

Sienna shrieked into the receiver, her voice shrill with raw fury. "Lucas!"

"What the hell was in those files you gave me?!"

Lucas was completely taken aback. "What is wrong? You said you just needed them for your personal studies."

"I... I got them straight from Jasper Vale. Is there a problem?"

Sienna let out a hysterical, manic laugh. "A problem?"

"It is a catastrophic disaster! Did you have any idea the Sullivan Group was going to base their entire project on those files? Seraphina just publicly accused us of corporate espionage in front of the entire industry!"

A suffocating silence fell over the line.

Sienna did not let up. "Lucas, you constantly swear you care about me, but is this how you show it? By throwing me straight into a raging fire?!"
