When they reached the club's entrance, Melody Monroe's car was already waiting.
She glanced back at Sienna Simmons. "Go on back. Don't keep Mr. Sullivan waiting too long."
Sienna smiled and nodded. "Take care, Melody."
Melody's car pulled away from the club.
Sienna stood rooted to the spot, the smile slowly fading from her lips.
Melody wasn't helping the Sullivans for her sake. It was purely because the Sullivan family still had value to exploit.
Taking a deep breath, Sienna turned and headed back inside.
In the private room, Sienna pushed the door open and sat beside Sebastian Sullivan. "Sebastian, what do you think?"
Sebastian remained silent for a moment. "A fifty-fifty split. It's not a bad deal."
"Then what are you hesitating for?"
He turned to look at her. "It's a massive project, after all."
What he didn't say was that there was no such thing as a free lunch. Something felt off to him, so he needed time to weigh his options.
Sienna nodded obediently. "Okay."
Sebastian stood up. "Let's go. I'll take you home."
A surge of joy rushed through Sienna as she hurried after him.
They walked out of the club one after the other. Sebastian's car was parked out front.
He opened the passenger door and let Sienna slide in.
On the way, Sienna broke the silence. "Sebastian, are you still blaming me for the patent issue?"
Sebastian's grip tightened on the steering wheel, but he didn't answer.
Her voice dropped, laced with grievance. "I really didn't know there was a problem with those files."
Hearing her voice only irritated him. He cut her off, his tone flat. "Sienna."
"That's in the past. Don't bring it up again."
Sienna paused. "Sebastian, do you really not blame me anymore?"
He didn't look at her, keeping his eyes on the road. "I don't have the energy to think about that right now. I just want to get this project sorted first."
Sienna nodded and stayed quiet.
Inside, she was thrilled. Sebastian's current attitude was the best possible outcome.
