My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 232

Seraphina spoke to him in her mind. "If he gets to the hospital in time, he should be fine."

She looked down at her clothes, brushed them off casually, and checked the time.

It was already three in the afternoon.

Her phone started buzzing.

It was Lucian Langford.

"Why aren't you back yet? The driver said you were just standing at the mall entrance."

Seraphina paused and looked around.

Sure enough, the Langford family car was parked by the curb. The driver, Connor, was peering in her direction. When he saw her looking, he quickly waved.

Gripping her phone, Seraphina walked toward the car. "I ran into a bit of trouble and got delayed. I'm heading over now."

"What kind of trouble?"

Seraphina pulled the car door open and slid inside. "Someone wasn't feeling well, so I helped call an ambulance."

There were two seconds of silence on the other end. "Wasn't feeling well? Are you okay?"

Seraphina was stunned for a moment before a smile broke out on her face. "I'm fine. It was someone else."

She could hear the tension in Lucian's voice, and it sent a sudden wave of warmth through her chest.

This man always seemed so cold on the outside, but deep down, he really cared about her.

He had already called her a few times since she left the house that morning.

Maybe he was just nervous about the baby, but Seraphina was content with that.

At the very least, he was going to be a good father.

As long as he treated Little Bean well, that was enough.

Lucian's voice returned to its usual cool tone. "Good. Be careful on your way back."

Seraphina hung up, a smile still lingering on her lips.

Little Bean giggled in her belly. "Mommy, Daddy was definitely scared half to death just now."

Seraphina didn't disagree, because she thought the exact same thing.

Before long, Connor dropped her back off at Lyra Bay.
