My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 231

Seraphina Simmons turned to the nearby mall security guard. "Could you please check with the ground-floor information desk to see if they have a first aid kit and a portable oxygen tank?"

The guard froze for a second, then nodded quickly and ran off to ask.

Seraphina turned back, carefully undoing the top button of the old man's collar to help him breathe easier.

Elder Harrison looked like he was in immense pain.

"Sir, don't panic. The ambulance is on its way. Take deep breaths and follow my rhythm. Inhale, exhale. That's it, nice and slow," Seraphina guided patiently.

The old gentleman struggled to adjust his breathing to her rhythm, his face still twisted in agony.

Little Bean whispered from inside her belly, "Mommy, the old gentleman still seems to be in a lot of pain."

Seraphina knew these were likely symptoms of a heart attack, where every single minute was critical.

She didn't dare move him. She could only keep him in a semi-seated position, resting against her.

"Sir, do you have any family nearby? I can call them for you."

Elder Harrison gripped her hand, his voice breaking. "Phone. In my pocket."

Seraphina carefully slipped the phone out of his coat pocket. The screen was still on, and the recent call list showed a contact saved as 'Daughter.'

She dialed the number, and it was picked up after three rings.

"Dad, are you here yet? I'm waiting for you on the third floor."

Seraphina tried to keep her voice as steady as possible. "Hello, are you this gentleman's daughter? Your father is feeling unwell by the ground-floor entrance. It seems to be a heart issue. I've already called an ambulance, so please come down as soon as you can."

The voice on the other end instantly changed, turning sharp and panicked. "What? What happened to my dad? I'll be right down! Right now!"

Seraphina hung up and slipped the phone back into the old man's pocket.

She held his hand again, her voice gentle. "Sir, your daughter is on her way down. Don't be afraid."
