The temperature beneath the covers was steadily rising.
Lucian didn't pull his hand away. Instead, he gently tightened his grip, his voice low and incredibly sexy. "It was an accident."
Seraphina bit her lip, her heart pounding like a drum.
She didn't dare move an inch.
What had gotten into Lucian?
He was usually so cold and restrained, but tonight he seemed like a completely different man!
Seraphina tried to push his hand away through the blanket, but he swiftly caught her hand, tangling their fingers together in a tight grip.
"Stop moving," Lucian's voice rumbled from just behind her ear, rough with suppressed desire. "Go to sleep."
He told her to sleep, yet he refused to let go of her hand.
His palm was large and warm, wrapping her in an overwhelming sense of security.
Seraphina closed her eyes and tried her best to calm down.
But the rhythmic sweep of his warm breath against the back of her neck felt like a feather teasing her skin—both ticklish and scalding.
Inside her belly, Little Bean rolled over and mumbled softly, "Mommy and Daddy are so loud."
Seraphina's face flushed an even deeper shade of red.
She had no idea when the baby had picked up such cheeky remarks.
Lucian seemed to sense her body stiffening and let out a low chuckle. "Did the baby move?"
"Yeah," Seraphina murmured softly in response.
Lucian released her hand and rested his large palm directly over her swollen belly.
His hand was broad and intensely warm, bringing a comforting heat to her stomach.
Suddenly, Little Bean kicked, landing a direct hit right against his palm.
Lucian froze for a split second before a wide smile broke across his face.
"He kicked me," he said, failing to hide the surprise and pure joy in his voice.
Seraphina turned her head to look at him. Bathed in the warm glow of the bedside lamp, Lucian's features looked noticeably softer than usual. He was no longer the cold, unfeeling billionaire everyone feared.
