My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 273

"Forget what?" Charlene blinked.

"Lucian is already the head of the Langford family. You guys have been fighting for so long, and what has it gotten you?"

"Besides, I know Lucian. He isn't the type to hoard everything. If we don't cause trouble, he won't come after us. But if we try to pull a stunt... we all know how that ends."

Landon saw things with crystal clarity.

Right now, he just wanted to enjoy life and party; everything else could wait.

Charlene choked on her words, her expression shifting rapidly.

Lawrence, however, cast a thoughtful look at his son.

After three years away, Landon had matured considerably.

"That's easy to say, but..." Charlene tried to argue.

"That's enough, Mom," Landon said, standing up. "I just got off a flight, and my jet lag is killing me. I'm going to crash. We can talk about these heiresses after I wake up."

Without waiting for a response, Landon headed upstairs.

Charlene sat on the sofa, glaring at his retreating back and stomping her foot in frustration.

"Look at him! He doesn't care at all!"

Lawrence sighed. "The kid just got back. Give him a break."

"A break? By the time he takes a break, we'll have nothing left!" Charlene flipped through the portfolio again, growing more irritated by the second before chucking it back onto the coffee table.

After a moment of thought, she grabbed her phone, scrolled to a number, and hit dial.

"Hello, Mrs. Zeller? Yes, yes, it's me... About that arrangement we discussed last time, how about we set up a meeting for the kids?"

A polite, ringing laugh echoed from the other end. Charlene plastered on a fake smile, her tone as warm and bubbly as if they were lifelong best friends.

Hanging up, Charlene let out a relieved breath. She turned to see Lawrence still reading his paper, and the nagging started again.

"Lawrence, who does Landon even take after? When I talk to him about dating, he acts like I'm trying to ruin his life."
