My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 386

When Seraphina released her grip, Lucian swiftly caught her hand, pulling it to his lips to press a tender kiss against her knuckles.

Caught off guard, Seraphina couldn't pull away in time. The tips of her ears burned red.

She turned her head to stare out the window. "Let's go home."

"As you wish."

Remembering the encounter at the gazebo, Seraphina spoke up again. "Earlier, a man came up to me and said he could help me if I ever needed it."

"Who?" Lucian's gaze darkened instantly.

"York Zeller. He tried to hand me his business card, but I didn't take it."

Lucian stared blankly at the road ahead, sinking into deep thought.

York Zeller was finally making his move.

He actually had the audacity to approach Seraphina directly. Lucian couldn't allow her to be dragged into this line of fire.

"Leave him to me. Just ignore him."

Seraphina nodded slightly. "Alright."

The car sped through the city, quickly arriving back at Lyra Bay.

Hearing the commotion, Susan hurried over to greet them. "Mr. Langford, Ma'am, welcome back."

Lucian held the baby in one arm and pushed the stroller with his free hand.

Seraphina walked in completely unburdened, playing the role of the pampered wife to perfection.

Susan watched the domestic scene and smiled radiantly.

She muttered to herself, "I have to tell the old lady about this. She's going to be absolutely thrilled."

Lucian's eyes were glued to Seraphina. Wherever she went, he followed, baby in tow.

Seraphina suddenly stopped in her tracks. Not paying attention, Lucian nearly crashed right into her.

She turned around to face him. "Lucian, I am not made of glass. From now on, if something happens, tell me straight. I can handle it. And when I can't, I'll tell you."

Lucian's Adam's apple bobbed. "Okay," he promised softly.

...

That night, Seraphina stepped out of the bathroom, her hair damp.

She was just looking around for the hairdryer when she noticed Lucian sitting on the edge of the bed. He was holding it up, motioning for her to come closer. "Come here."
