My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 43

The tone was steady and radiated absolute authority.

Sebastian's hand stiffened as he slowly turned his head.

A towering figure stepped out of a luxury car.

Dressed in a sharp black suit with impeccable posture, every step he took exuded an overwhelming, predatory dominance.

It was Lucian Langford.

His face appeared perfectly calm, but his dark gaze was unfathomable.

It gave off the terrifying calm right before a devastating storm.

The second Seraphina saw him, an inexplicable sense of relief washed over her.

Wait, hadn't he already left for work?

Why was he here?

Before Seraphina even had a chance to ask, Lucian had already closed the distance.

His gaze locked onto the hand Sebastian had wrapped around Seraphina's wrist.

"I said, let her go," he repeated, his voice dropping to a dangerous chill.

Lucian hadn't expected to witness such a scene when he circled back home to grab a forgotten document.

This Sebastian Sullivan really needed to be put in his place.

Sebastian subconsciously released his grip.

Facing Lucian head-on still managed to send a wave of intimidation through him.

"Mr. Langford, this is between Sera and me. It has nothing to do with you," Sebastian stated, trying to steady his nerves.

Lucian completely ignored him, his eyes dropping to check Seraphina's wrist.

An angry red mark was already blooming against her luminous skin.

His gaze turned somber.

"She is my wife. Do you really think this has nothing to do with me?"

Sebastian's expression twisted. "Everyone is well aware of the true nature of your marriage. It's nothing more than a contract. There are absolutely no feelings involved."

"A contract? No feelings? Are you some omniscient mind-reader who knows exactly what goes on between us? What would it take for you to believe otherwise? Would a kiss do?" Lucian suddenly let out a faint chuckle.

It was a shallow smile that didn't reach his eyes.

The very next second, he wrapped an arm around Seraphina's waist and pulled her flush against his chest.

Caught entirely off guard, Seraphina crashed into his firm torso.

His searing body heat radiated through the thin fabric of her dress, and she could feel the steady, powerful rhythm of his heartbeat.
