Seraphina cast her gaze downward, gently resting a hand over her bump.

"Now you decide to bring up Grandfather? Where was that respect when you were backing me into a corner and slapping me across the face?"

"Mr. Simmons," Seraphina interrupted, her voice entirely flat. "Whatever Lucian chooses to do is his own business. I have no control over him, nor do I want to."
