"You need to get over here right now. I have something really important to tell you," Tiffany said.
"Does it have to be right now? Can't you just tell me over the phone?" Seraphina glanced hesitantly at Lucian.
Lucian's expression remained neutral.
Tiffany seemed drunk, her words slurring slightly. "You... hurry over. It's really important. Extremely important."
Left with no other choice, Seraphina gave Lucian a helpless look. "Lucian..."
He turned to Christian. "Let's head over."
Christian made a sharp turn and drove toward The Nocturne Lounge.
When Seraphina and Lucian arrived at The Nocturne Lounge, they slipped in through the back door, avoiding drawing too much attention.
Jules Zeller was just walking from the bar to the private rooms when he caught sight of Lucian from the corner of his eye. He froze. "Lucian?"
"Are you out of your mind? With your legs like this, you're still coming to a place like this?"
"Does Seraphina know?"
Jules paused, leaning in closer to Lucian. "Are the rumors actually true? You're here looking for some... special treatment?"
The more he spoke, the darker Lucian's expression became, his face turning thoroughly predatory.
By the end of his sentence, Jules was glancing elsewhere, his voice growing smaller and smaller.
"I know. I'm the one who brought him here."
Seraphina stepped out from the corner, offering Jules a smile. "Jules. Long time no see."
Jules blinked in surprise before a look of deep admiration crossed his face. "Seraphina, you really are something else. Making such a huge sacrifice."
"Lucian really hit the jackpot by marrying you."
Seraphina and Lucian exchanged a look, both entirely speechless.
"Ignore him. There's something wrong with his head."
Seraphina nodded. "I'm here to find a friend."
"What kind of friend? Tall? Short? Skinny?"
