Taking all of this in, the jealousy inside Sienna grew wildly like toxic weeds.
From childhood, she never understood why everyone preferred Seraphina.
When their grandfather was alive, he showered all his affection on her.
The servants in the Simmons household secretly whispered that the eldest daughter was prettier and more sensible than the younger one.
Even Sebastian, whom she had schemed so hard to steal, looked at Seraphina like she hung the moon.
Why?
What was so great about Seraphina?
She was just a stray dog kicked out of the Simmons family!
Taking a deep breath, Sienna walked over with Sebastian on her arm.
"Seraphina, what a coincidence. You're here too," Sienna chimed, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness.
Seraphina turned her head. Seeing the two of them, a flicker of coldness passed through her eyes.
She had expected this; there was no way Sienna would miss an occasion like this.
Sienna loved nothing more than showing off.
"Ms. Simmons, I don't believe we're that close," Seraphina replied coolly.
Being addressed as "Ms. Simmons" made Sienna's smile falter for a second.
In the past, Seraphina would at least address her by her name, but now that she had married up, she didn't even bother with fake pleasantries.
"Why so formal?" Sienna pouted, feigning hurt. "We're family."
Seraphina took a sip of her juice, her tone flat. "You must be joking, Ms. Simmons. I'm no longer part of the Simmons family."
Sienna's expression shifted.
"Seraphina, Dad was just acting out on impulse. Don't take it to heart," Sienna said, her tone laced with faux conciliation. "Didn't he apologize to you later?"
Seraphina glanced at her but said nothing.
An apology?
Was that what Samuel considered an apology?
He only bowed his head because Lucian had backed him into a corner.
Little Bean scoffed from her womb. "Mommy, this woman is so fake, her smile is basically a mask! And your trashy ex-fiancé keeps staring at you, it's so gross!"
Seraphina sneered internally.
