My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 567

Seraphina paused her footsteps, pressing her lips together as she looked at Lucian. "No need."

"When my mother was sick, he didn't even bother to visit her in the hospital," Seraphina paused, a trace of resentment in her voice. "Me coming here to see him now is more than enough."

Lucian met her gaze, his heart aching for her. "It's okay. Whatever you decide, I support you."

He lowered his eyes to Seraphina's injured hand. Seeing the blood seeping through, his brow furrowed deeply.

He turned to Christian Chase. "Get a doctor."

"Right away, Mr. Langford." Christian turned to leave.

Seraphina stared blankly. She looked at Lucian. "A doctor? Are you feeling unwell..."

Before she could finish, she noticed Lucian's gaze fixed on her hand.

She immediately understood.

"It's nothing serious. You don't need to get a doctor."

"Yes, I do. You call the shots on the big things, but I handle the small ones," Lucian said.

Seraphina paused, looking at him with an amused smile. "Really?"

"Absolutely. Truer than gold."

Before Seraphina could take it back, he shot Christian a look. "Why are you still here?"

Christian hurried off.

Seraphina looked at Lucian. "Mr. Langford, you sure are used to ordering people around."

Lucian didn't even blink. "He loves it."

"Are you sure?"

Christian paused in his tracks and looked back at Seraphina. "Yes, Mrs. Langford."

He was getting paid a premium salary; doing a little extra was expected.

If anything, he had to blame Mr. Langford for paying him too well.

"Too much talking," Lucian scoffed.

This time, Christian didn't dare stick around. He strode away and quickly disappeared from sight.
