My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 595

The next morning, Seraphina was jolted awake by the sound of crying.

Before even opening her eyes, she instinctively reached out to the other side of the bed.

But her hand met cold, empty sheets. The space beside her was vacant.

She forced her eyes open and realized Lucian had already gotten up.

It was the weekend. Why was he up so early?

"Alright, Little Bean, don't cry. Mommy is right here." Seraphina tried to push herself up, only to be met with a sharp jolt of pain in her hand. The repeated reopening of the wound made it throb intensely.

She grit her teeth, pushed herself to the side of the crib, and gently patted Little Bean's chest.

Little Bean stopped wailing. His big, tearless eyes stared wide at her. *Mommy, you're finally awake!*

Seraphina hummed softly, checking his diaper. "Not full. Are you hungry?"

*No, no, it's none of that!* Little Bean thought.

*It's Daddy. When Daddy woke up today, he was super angry. He wanted to trick Mommy...* Little Bean paused, realizing that wasn't quite right, and quickly corrected himself. *No, wait. Somebody was cursing Mommy, and that's why Daddy was so mad!*

"Cursing me?"

Seraphina was completely baffled. She hadn't done anything wrong. Why would anyone be cursing her?

Was Evie throwing another one of her irrational tantrums?

But if it were Evie, Lucian wouldn't be this furious.

Whatever. She'd go downstairs and figure it out.

Because of her injured hand, she didn't dare pick Little Bean up with her right arm, struggling awkwardly to lift him with only her left.

Just as she managed to pull him up, a knock sounded at the bedroom door. "Mrs. Langford, is the young heir awake?"

"Yes," Seraphina called out. "Come in and take him, Susan."

She secretly marveled at how perfectly Little Bean lived up to his nickname. He was getting chubbier and heavier by the day.
