Landon's lips curled into a lazy, confident smile. "You don't trust me to handle this?"
Melody pressed her lips together, staring at him in silence.
She couldn't tell anymore if Landon was her pawn, or if she was his.
"What's our next move?"
she finally asked after a long pause.
"We wait."
"Wait?"
Melody looked at the casual smirk on his face, finding it almost surreal.
"Focus on recovering. Don't make any sudden moves, and just wait for the show," he advised.
With that, Landon turned and left.
Melody watched his retreating figure, a complex glint in her eyes.
Could she really trust Landon?
Hesitating for a moment, she pulled out her phone and dialed Howard Monroe.
"Dad, I need to talk to you about something..."
Not long after Seraphina returned to Lyra Bay, the viral video online had already surpassed millions of views.
Tiffany paced back and forth by the window, her eyes glued to her screen.
"Why hasn't anything happened yet?"
Seraphina sat nearby, quietly eating a warm bowl of oatmeal with milk.
Tiffany's endless pacing was starting to give her a headache, so she finally set her spoon down.
"Tiff, come here for a second."
Tiffany stopped in her tracks. She turned to Seraphina, her thumbs still swiping furiously. "Is there an update?"
Seraphina simply pointed to the empty seat beside her.
Tiffany sat down.
Seraphina pushed her bowl toward her friend. "Eat some. I added milk, it tastes pretty good."
Tiffany picked up a spoon and took a bite. It really was delicious.
