Lucian paused for a moment. "I had someone keeping an eye on you the whole time, but she failed her duty. The second she stepped away to use the restroom, that waiter took you."

Seraphina stared at him in surprise.

"Thank you," she murmured again, her voice soft.

Lucian looked back at her, his gaze deep and tender. "You're my wife. Protecting you is exactly what I should do."

Seraphina's heart skipped a beat.

She hastily averted her eyes, feeling the heat rise to the tips of her ears.

Little Bean was practically rolling around laughing in her womb. "Mommy, you're blushing again! Is your heart fluttering? Mommy, actions speak louder than words!"

Little Bean giggled and went quiet.

Seeing Seraphina lie down, Lucian stepped out of the room and instructed Susan to prepare a soothing herbal tea for her.

She had a terrible scare tonight.

Lucian then retreated to his study and made a phone call.

He had promised Seraphina that he would let her handle the mother and daughter.

But what they attempted tonight was utterly despicable. He had to teach that woman a lesson she wouldn't forget anytime soon.

Over at the police station, Sienna was refusing to cooperate. She was throwing a massive tantrum, screaming for a lawyer.

"Do you have any idea who I am? I am the heiress to The Simmons Group! If you don't let me go right now, I'll have all your badges!"

The interrogation room door swung open, and a female officer walked in, setting a cup of water on the table with an expressionless face.

"Ms. Simmons, please calm down and cooperate with our investigation."

Sienna slammed her hands on the table in a rage. "Cooperate with what? I didn't do anything! Someone set me up! You should be out arresting that bitch Seraphina, I'm innocent!"

She looked completely unhinged, screaming like a lunatic.

The female officer furrowed her brows, completely ignoring the outburst, and turned to walk out.
