"How are you planning to handle this?" Zelda asked, approaching him with a demanding tone.
Samuel looked up at her. "You're asking me? Sienna orchestrated this entire disaster. As her mother, don't you think you bear some responsibility?"
Zelda's voice spiked defensively. "What responsibility? That bitch Seraphina framed her!"
"Framed her?" Samuel let out a cold laugh. "Are you telling me Seraphina planted the bank transfer receipts and chat logs on Sienna's phone?"
Zelda opened her mouth, but the words died in her throat.
Samuel stood up, running a hand over his face in exhaustion. "Zelda, I know you've never liked Seraphina, but Sienna brought this entirely on herself. You refused to discipline her, and instead enabled her reckless behavior. It was only a matter of time before it destroyed her."
"I enabled her?" Zelda's voice grew even shriller. "Samuel, what exactly are you implying? Sienna is your daughter! She was brutally humiliated, and instead of taking her side, you're pointing fingers at me?"
Samuel stared at the woman standing in front of him, suddenly feeling like he was looking at a complete stranger.
When he married her, she was gentle, virtuous, and understanding.
Now, she had morphed into someone bitter, sharp-tongued, and relentlessly calculating.
"I'm done arguing." Samuel turned and headed toward the stairs. "Make sure Sienna stays put in this house for the next few days. She isn't going anywhere."
Zelda stood alone in the living room, staring daggers at Samuel's retreating back, her eyes brimming with sheer hatred.
She whipped out her phone and dialed a number.
The moment it connected, she lowered her voice, putting on a sweet, gentle tone. "It's me. Are you going to help me with Sienna's situation or not?"
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end before a deep male voice replied, "I told you, don't make any reckless moves. The timing isn't right."
"Then when will it be right? That bitch Seraphina ruined my daughter's life! How do you expect me to just sit back and take it?" Zelda hissed impatiently.
She couldn't stand it for another second.
Especially after seeing her daughter in that pathetic state, it felt like a knife twisting in her heart.
