My Wedding Day Switch To Ex's Uncle novel Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Catching Them in the Act

Felix Fitzgerald was cheating.

Abigail Winchester stood frozen outside the lounge, staring through the gap in the doorway. Her groom had his hands all over another woman, their bodies pressed together in a way that left no room for doubt.

That woman was Caroline Yannis—her maid of honor and her best friend.

"Felix..." Caroline's voice was breathy and satisfied. "Tell me, who looks better in this wedding dress—me or Abigail?"

"You, of course... baby, you're driving me crazy... I should've had you wear it for me sooner..." His words trailed off into action, and Caroline let out an unrestrained moan of pleasure.

That sound burrowed into Abigail's ears, buzzing in her skull. She could no longer hear the distant chatter from the reception hall or her own heartbeat—all sound in the world seemed to drain away.

Only deafening silence remained.

In the vacuum of silence, her eyes involuntarily fixed on the wedding dress—just yesterday afternoon, she had been in this very dressing room, carefully steaming every inch of it until it was perfectly smooth, her heart full of hope for their future together.

Now, the once-pristine satin was wrinkled and crushed. The delicate embroidery was twisted out of shape from their reckless movements, and there were even... obvious stains marking the fabric.

A wave of nausea surged up from her stomach. Her nails dug into her palms as her chest heaved uncontrollably. Each breath felt like swallowing shards of glass.

Push open the door! Storm in! Expose these cheating bastards!

The thought screamed in her mind. Her whole body tensed, ready to burst through the door—her fingertips already feeling the cold metal of the handle.

But then reality hit her like a bucket of ice water.

No.

She couldn't do that.

Today, hundreds of Claudia's most influential families were gathered in the venue waiting for the ceremony to begin. If she exposed this now, it would humiliate not just her, but her entire family in front of everyone who mattered.

Winchester Group's stock would plummet. And her parents—they'd just been through so much recently...

Mom's heart couldn't handle another scandal. Dad's forced smile flashed through her mind.

It wasn't worth it. She wouldn't gamble the Winchester family's reputation and her parents' health on someone like him.

Choking down the rage burning in her chest, she released the door handle as if fleeing from a plague. She stumbled backward one step, then another...

Until her back hit the cold wall. The sharp pain jolted her back to reality and gave her the strength to move. She spun around and practically ran from that suffocating place.

In front of the vanity mirror, Abigail sat rigidly, her face deathly pale.

Just then, the door clicked open.

Felix walked in carrying a familiar white gift box, wearing that gentle smile she used to love so much.

"Abigail, we found your wedding dress. It was in the storage room corner—some careless staff member must've put it in the wrong place." His tone was casual and natural, without a hint of guilt.

Abigail watched his performance with cold eyes.

He untied the ribbon on the box while continuing in that sickeningly gentle tone, "The dress got wrinkled somehow. We'll need to steam it again before the ceremony."

Then he lifted the lid.

The dress she'd once treasured now lay crumpled like a rag in the box. Caroline's overpowering perfume hit her face in a choking wave.

But even so, she could still smell it—that deeper, more sickening scent underneath...

Just ten minutes ago, this wedding dress had been wrapped around Caroline's body, pressed against the man standing before her now with his self-righteous face. The fabric had absorbed every moment of their frantic, passionate encounter.

"Ugh... urgh..." A wave of revulsion hit her so hard she doubled over, dry heaving uncontrollably.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Felix frowned, stepping forward and placing a concerned hand on her shoulder.

That touch hit her like an electric shock. She violently knocked his hand away, her voice sharp. "Don't touch me!"
