Last night, when Cecilia couldn't pay the bill at the restaurant, she had offered to wash dishes to pay it off.
But then Tobias revealed his identity, saying he was a friend of Jonathan's, which by extension made them friends.
Cecilia was surprised by how decent the guy was. They chatted for a bit, and Tobias said he would give her a 20% discount on the car repairs, and that he would cover yesterday's dinner.
She thought Tobias was a pretty good guy, so to show her gratitude, she picked up the half-full glass of wine on the table and downed it in one go.
That was the glass of wine that made her so drunk she couldn't even remember her own address.
She had blacked out completely after that.
Seeing Cecilia's blank and confused expression, Stephanie knew she had forgotten everything that happened last night.
She felt it was necessary to help her remember.
After washing her face, Stephanie sat at the vanity and applied some of Cecilia’s skincare products. “Tobias is in the hospital. Broken collarbone.”
Cecilia was shocked. “That serious? How did that happen?”
Stephanie looked at her in the mirror. “I saw you rubbing your elbow from the moment you woke up. Does it hurt? You really don't remember anything?”
Cecilia did feel a dull ache in her elbow.
It was as if it had slammed into something hard.
But Stephanie knew better than anyone that Cecilia had used that right elbow to slam down on Tobias' collarbone, sending him to the hospital.
Stephanie turned around. “Honey, when you get up, you should hurry to the hospital and beg for his forgiveness.”
In Stephanie’s opinion, Tobias was completely wronged.
He had kindly taken in a drunkard, waited until the middle of the night for her friend to pick her up, only to end up with a broken bone and a trip to the hospital for his troubles.
