Nine Hot Therians and Their Only One Queen novel Chapter 496

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley**

**Chapter 496: Banter Between Mates**

“Everything that should be covered is covered,” Silas declared, his voice steady.

Corvin and Edric exchanged incredulous glances, their expressions a mix of disbelief and confusion.

Sure, the essentials were indeed concealed, but what about the rest? The nuances, the details?

Silas remained unfazed by their mounting frustration, continuing with an air of calmness. “Emy gave this to me and… she asked me to wear it.”

If he were to be honest, this whole situation wouldn’t have unfolded if it weren’t for the strange energy he had felt earlier that day.

He certainly hadn’t anticipated running into Corvin and Edric while dressed like this.

He wasn’t delusional; he didn’t want anyone to witness him in this state either.

After all, he was clad in matching pajamas with Emy—pajamas that carried the unmistakable imprint of their intimate moments together.

“What?” Corvin’s voice rose in disbelief, his eyes widening as he processed Silas’s words. “Are you seriously trying to tell me that Emma gave you that?”

There was no way this could be true.

“I can’t believe you. Not for a second.”

Corvin shook his head vigorously, a firm conviction in his tone. “Emma is a proper lady. She always dresses impeccably. She would never give you something like that. This outfit screams you. Besides, everyone knows your closet is overflowing with those kinds of clothes.”

Corvin was utterly convinced that Silas had purchased this ensemble himself and was attempting to pin the blame on Emma to avoid being caught looking ridiculous.

So, there was no way he was going to take a single word from Silas seriously.

Meanwhile, Edric glanced at Silas, then quickly averted his gaze, a hint of guilt crossing his features.

He believed Silas.

That trust stemmed from a personal experience; Emma had given him something similar in the past.

Silas caught the fleeting look of understanding and turned to Corvin, “If you find this so hard to swallow, just ask Emy yourself once she wakes up.”

“Fine! I’ll do just that. I’ll ask her when she wakes up,” Corvin replied, his tone a mix of determination and skepticism.

He was well aware that Emma was still asleep and wouldn’t dare intrude upon her rest.

So, he decided to linger right there, waiting for the moment he could confront her.

“It’s getting late,” Silas said, glancing at the glowing numbers on his lightcore. “Corvin, why don’t you and Edric whip up some breakfast for Emy? I’ll send you a message once she wakes up, and you can ask her yourself.”

Edric turned to Corvin, an encouraging smile creeping onto his face. “Corvin, let’s go. We should make breakfast for Emma. You wouldn’t want her waking up to an empty stomach, would you?”

He wasn’t just trying to assist Silas; he had a similar experience under his belt and was convinced that Emma had indeed gifted Silas a matching set of pajamas.

It was likely she was wearing something just as bold at that very moment.

When Emma was alone with one of them, she exuded confidence, but once surrounded by others, she would retreat into her shell.

Edric felt a twinge of concern that Corvin might burst into the room the moment he realized Emma was awake.

It would be an incredibly awkward situation if Emma hadn’t had enough time to change out of her lingerie.

The thought of her embarrassment made Edric wince.

Corvin glanced at the slightly ajar door, then nodded reluctantly. “Fine.”

Emma’s well-being was far more important than a pair of pajamas. He could always inquire about it later.

If Silas’s claim held any truth, then he too deserved a pajama set like that!

“Shut up.”

Emma playfully nipped at his ear, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Silas let out a muffled groan, his fingers instinctively clutching the sheets beneath him.

“Emy, don’t… I’m sorry.”

The sun was just beginning to peek through the clouds, and he wasn’t prepared for such an exhilarating encounter so early in the day.

“And why are you apologizing?” Emma shot back, her gaze fierce.

Silas leaned in closer, whispering, “I shouldn’t have let Edric and Corvin see me like this.”

He had sensed her stirring the moment her eyes fluttered open.

Yet, he chose not to reveal her ruse immediately, opting to play along.

“You knew, and you still went out dressed like that?” she hissed, a mix of frustration and embarrassment coloring her words.

Emma couldn’t help but be impressed. No, she was in awe of his audacity.

How was he even real?

“Emy, you’ve misunderstood me this time. I didn’t mean to go out like this. I’m not a voyeur,” he explained earnestly.

He continued, “I felt an unusual energy fluctuation outside earlier, so I went out to investigate. I genuinely didn’t expect to run into Edric and Corvin.”

“An unusual energy fluctuation?”

Emma released him, her expression turning serious as she regarded him intently. “What happened?”

“A few Chitnid probably slipped in. It wasn’t a significant fluctuation, so there shouldn’t be too many of them.”
