“Sure.” Aria nodded. “I’ll be waiting for you at home.”

“Thank you, Ms. Aria Veynar.” With Aria’s assurance, Rafael couldn’t help letting the corners of his lips curl into a faint smile.

A hint of warmth spread across his expression.

He was already handsome to begin with, but when he smiled, there was something almost pure and innocent about him.

Somehow, it only made him look even better.

Aria nearly found herself staring. God, this male is seriously good-looking.

“You’re welcome. Now, hurry home and get your brother to the hospital.” She quickly had her mate arrange for Rafael to be taken home.

Aria’s mate, Kaiman Anderson, was far from happy about it.

He didn’t like the way Rafael had gone about things, but when it came to his huntress’ orders, he had no choice but to listen.

He stepped forward and said to Rafael, “Mr. Menderson, come with me. I’ll have someone take you home.”

“Thank you.” Rafael thanked him politely before following him outside.

But the moment he turned to leave, his thick lashes lowered.

The gratitude and innocence that had filled his eyes a moment ago vanished, replaced by a fleeting glint of cold determination.

Now that I have a connection to Aria, I have more chances to get close to Emma.

Rafael had barely been gone when Milper came rushing in from outside.

The moment he saw Aria, he hurriedly said, “Ms. Veynar, Rafael is gone.”

Aria looked at Milper, who was breathing heavily and covered in sweat. For a moment, she had no idea what the hell he had been doing to end up in such a state.

She didn’t say anything right away.

Instead, she grabbed a tissue and wiped the sweat from his face before speaking. “I’ve already arranged for someone to take Rafael home, but what about you? Didn’t I tell you to take Rafael to get his star coins back earlier? He’s already gone home, so why are you only getting back now?”

After all, Milper wasn’t usually this unreliable.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Veynar. It’s my fault.” His cheeks flushed slightly as he looked at Aria and explained quietly. “I was taking Rafael to find Lange, but my stomach suddenly started acting up on the way, so I had to use the bathroom. And because my luck was so terrible, the bathroom door broke. I… I got trapped inside.”

The Executive Department’s bathroom doors were made of extremely durable titanium crystal alloy. They were built to withstand

explosions and were practically impossible to break through.

Of course, the smart tocking system had to freeze up at the worst possible moment. Without the administrator’s specialized physical key, there was absolutely no way for anyone inside to open the door.

By the time Milper finally managed to get in touch with the repair crew outside and somehow fought his way out after going through hell and back, Rafael was already nowhere to be found.

Then, he heard about what had happened in the banquet hall. The news scared the life out of him, and he immediately ran over to see what was going on.

Milper looked at Aria with a deeply aggrieved expression.

The moment he thought back to what he had just been through, he couldn’t help but rant internally.

I seriously don’t get it. Why does the Executive Department need to use such ridiculously good material for a bathroom door? What, are they afraid someone is going to sneak in and steal their sh*t?

“Oh, so that’s what happened!” Aria said after hearing his explanation. She tried not to laugh as she comforted him. “Then you really can’t be blamed for this. It’s all that door’s fault for breaking down at the worst possible time.”

After that little commotion, the banquet outside was pretty much coming to an end.

Aria walked over and took Emma’s hand. “Emma, the banquet outside is almost over, and there’s nothing much left to do here.”

The moment she said that, Silas, Andre, and Gaellard all turned their eyes toward her.

After all, it was obvious there was more to what she had just said.

Under the three males’ intimidating stares, Aria swallowed her nerves and forced herself to speak. “We’re not going home tonight. I’ll take you somewhere way more fun instead. How does that sound?”

For Lucien, I really am going all out. Silas, Gaellard, and Andre are all males I really don’t want to mess with.

“Somewhere more fun?” Emma immediately perked up. “Where?”

Aria gave her a mysterious smile. “If I tell you, it’ll ruin the surprise. Come with me and you’ll find out.”

Emma happened to have no desire to go back to the castle either, so she nodded without a second thought. “Okay, then let’s go

now.”

After all, with Silas, Gaellard, and Andre with them, there was no need to worry about anything happening to her and Aria.

The airship slowly lifted into the sky.

Emma sank into the soft, cloud-like couch and looked at Aria, who had taken the seat beside her. “Aria, about Rafael just now. Are you really thinking about bonding with him?”

Emma couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to Rafael than met the eye. She had been about to warn Aria in the lounge next to the banquet hall, but before she could say anything, Aria had already dragged her onto the airship.
