Chapter 543 Memories Erased

Seeing that Remy was comforting her in her arms, Emma felt her heart breaking.

Remy seemed to sense her low mood as he reached out his chubby little hand and gently touched Emma’s face.

“Don’t be sad, Mommy. I’ll be fine. I also want these memories to be erased since they make me sad too. It’s okay, Mommy. Everything will be fine after I wake up.”

As soon as Remy’s words fell, Silas‘ eyes shot toward him.

He knew that Remy wasn’t speaking the complete truth and was telling Emma this only to avoid worrying her, as well as avoiding Silas feeling troubled.

Alaric, also concerned that Emma might worry about Remy, spoke up as well. “Erasing the inherited memories won’t harm Remy in any other way. Trust me. I guarantee he’ll be fine.”

Emma took a deep breath and swallowed the ache in her heart before looking at Silas.

As Silas met her gaze, his expression was full of guilt, but he nodded earnestly.

Taking another deep breath, Emma carefully handed Remy to Silas. She understood that erasing those heavy, painful memories might be the best protection for Remy–allowing him to grow up happy and pure, rather than burdened from the very beginning with darkness that didn’t belong to him.

Silas held Remy and gently placed him back onto the soft cradle, carefully tucking the cloak around him. Once done, he stepped back and said to Alaric in a low voice, “Go on.”

Hearing this, Alaric approached the cradle, his fingertips gathering a soft silver–white light, and gently touched Remy’s forehead.

Lying in the cradle, Remy seemed to sense it as his brows furrowed slightly, but soon relaxed under the glow.

Emma stood by Silas‘ side and watched as Remy closed his eyes. Then, she reached out and held Silas‘ hand, noticing that the male’s hand was cold and clammy from being nervous.

Then, she looked at him and said softly, “I know what you’re worried about. Silas, Remy is our child, so I will love him no matter

what.”

Having lived here for so many years, Emma understood that their emotions could differ from humans!. Some females give birth to many offspring and may not form strong attachments, except for particularly exceptional ones.

However, she was a human, and so were her emotions. As a mother, she would love every child and guide them well.

Minutes later, Alaric withdrew his hand from Remy’s forehead.

Emma and Silas immediately stepped forward.

“How is it?” Silas asked Alaric.

She also looked at Alaric.

Alaric smiled as he looked at Remy and said, “I had erased the inherited memories. He’ll be fine once he wakes up.”

Hearing this, both Emma and Silas exhaled in relief. Emma approached the cradle and gently touched Remy’s small hand.

Standing beside her, Silas finally relaxed. Then, he asked Alaric, “When will Remy be awake?”

“About half an hour,” Alaric replied.

The basement air was damp.

Hearing Remy would take half an hour to wake, Silas hesitated for a moment before saying to Emma, “Emma, this environment isn’t ideal. It’s better if Lucien and Calum accompany you upstairs. I’ll stay here with Remy. When he wakes up, I’ll bring him to you.” Then, he remembered something and added, “This auction house is mine. If you like anything, just send it to my lightcore. I’l have someone deliver it to you.”

Emma was shocked when she heard that the auction house was Silas‘. Recalling that he ran these auctions and other ventures, she wondered if Silas was working in this kind of industry.

“No need.” Emma immediately refused without hesitation. “I want to stay with Remy.” Nothing mattered more than her child right

now.

Seeing her insistence, Silas could only fashion a chair from the vines for her, letting her sit while waiting. On the other hand, Lucien, Calum, and Alaric silently stared at Silas with some disbelief.

They despised Silas for not making chairs for them too, when they were also standing. With so many vines, a few more chairs wouldn’t have been difficult, nor would it have tired him out.

Silas noticed their resentful glances but ignored them. After all, not everyone could touch his vines.

Once Emma sat, she suddenly asked Silas, “Will Remy still remember me after his inherited memories were removed?”

Silas nodded. “Although the inherited memories are erased, the memories from when he became your child remain.” Hearing that reassured Emma. Then, she asked, “When you said you were going to handle some stuff, is it this?”
