“Why would you think that?”

Emma smiled and patted Remy’s head.

“I’m right here at home. You can come find me whenever you want.”

Emma understood what he was trying to say.

She walked them to the door, saw Silas and Remy out, then headed straight to the kitchen with Lucien.

Corvin was already there with Edric, working on a batch of desserts.

When Emma walked in, Corvin’s face lit up. He rushed over and placed a freshly finished dessert right in front of her.

“Perfect timing, Emma!

“I just finished this. Try it and tell me what you think.”

It was a cranberry pudding.

The color and the shape alone looked incredible.

“I know you do not like things that are too sweet,

“So I made sure to keep the sugar low. I think you’ll like it.”

Emma took the spoon from Edric and tried a bite.

“It’s delicious. Corvin, your cooking really keeps improving.”

Even she could not make it taste this good.

Emma glanced down at the pudding, then looked at Corvin.

She spoke without thinking.

“I’m starting to think we could actually open a dessert shop.”

Emma nodded. “We can bring on some staff and teach them.”

Edric said, “We need to keep the recipes secret. Anyone we hire has to sign a confidentiality agreement.

“And we’ll split up the process into steps.

“That way, even if they know their part, they will not know how to make the whole dessert.”

Corvin agreed right away.

Lucien asked, “So who’s going to run this?”

Edric said, “I can handle hiring. But I won’t have time to train anyone.”
