After finishing the pudding, Emma went to make cookies for Silas. She also whipped up a bunch of treats for Aria. With Lucien, Edric, and Corvin helping out, she got everything done in no time.

Once the cookies were ready, she handed them to Lucien and told him to organize someone to deliver them to Silas.

Later that afternoon, Aria showed up at Emma’s place with a few of her mates. It had been a while since they last saw each other.

Aria looked even prettier than before. The moment she spotted Emma, she ran over without hesitation and wrapped her in a tight hug. “Emma, it’s been so long. I’ve missed you so much.”

While saying that, she handed Emma a storage band. “I brought you a gift. There’s a little bit of everything in here. You’re definitely going to like it.”

It was all the good stuff Aria had been collecting during her time out. Whenever she found something she liked, she made sure to get two–one for herself, one for Emma.

“You brought it for me, so I’m sure I’ll love it,” Emma replied, taking the storage band. She laughed with Aria as they walked toward the living room. “I made a bunch of treats too. Come on, I’ll show you.”

Aria munched on some cookies while telling Emma about all the adventures she’d had recently.

Emma raised her eyebrows when she heard Aria had even gone to the outer region. “You actually went to the outer region?”

“Yeah.” Aria nodded. “I was in outer region Duskora there. I saw so many things the Empire doesn’t have. And there were tons of beasts. But honestly, the beasts weren’t the dangerous ones. The real threat was the Chitinid. On those outer region Duskora, they’re everywhere, lying in wait.”

Emma asked, “Did you run into any Chitinid this time?”

Aria nodded. “Yeah, plenty of them. But I’m tough, so I wasn’t scared at all. My mates and I made quick work of them.”

After telling Emma about her run–in with the Chitinid on Duskora, she leaned in a little. “Tomorrow’s the Celestara Gala. Have you decided how you’re going to spend it?”

Aria came back today just for tomorrow’s Celestara Gala.

Emma grinned. “I actually made plans with a female friend.” She looked at Aria and teased, “What about you? Got any ideas?”

Of course Aria had ideas.

She grabbed Emma’s hand and leaned in close, whispering in her ear, “On Central Planet, every Celestara Gala comes with this huge, wild after–party. You should bring your friend, Emma. Let’s go together.”

She had been wanting to go to this party for ages. When she was younger, her mom never let her. Now that she had mates of her own, she could finally go.

“No way.” Before Emma could even answer, Lucien, standing nearby, heard Aria and instantly darkened.

Aria’s brows shot up. She wasn’t having it. “Lucien, I totally disagree with that. You’re one of Emma’s many mates. Surely she’s more than ready for a party like this?”

“You’re not going either.” Lucien shot Aria a sharp look. Suddenly, he regretted letting her in today, realizing she was already scheming.

“I’m going anyway.” Aria stared him down, refusing to back down. Now that she had her own mates, he had no say over her

anymore.
