Chapter 624 Corvin’s Little Idea
“From here… or…” Kieran’s gaze drifted downward and settled on Emma’s lips. “From here?”

The way he said it was shameless and tempting. Her chest tightened, heat sparking straight to her core. She instinctively released. his earlobe. Her lips parted as a soft breath slipped out.
Seeing her like that only deepened the amusement in his eyes. He pulled his focus away from her mouth and leaned close to her ear again. His breath was warm and damp, like ocean mist rolling in at night, wrapping around her until she felt surrounded.
“But I’m a pretty big merfolk,” he murmured lazily. “If you really plan on eating all of me, that’s going to take… quite a while.”
He lingered on the word ‘eating,‘ and his tone was thick with deliberate emphasis.
Before she could fire back, he continued in that smooth, low voice that somehow sounded both clear and husky at the same time. “I don’t think we have enough time right now.”
His fingertips were still tracing slow, unhurried patterns along the sensitive curve of her neck, as if he were memorizing something precious. The touch was gentle, yet steady. Firm enough that she could not pull away even if she tried.
“Why don’t we wait until tomorrow night?” he whispered near her ear. “After we get back from the Celestara Gala, you can finish eating me. Deal?”
He did not give her the chance to refuse. He lowered his head and captured her lips in a precise kiss.
There was no aggression in it. No rush. He simply brushed against her slowly, softly, as if soothing her. As if sealing a promise she would not be allowed to take back.
Emma was speechless.
Somehow, she had walked straight into his trap. She was the one who made the first move. She was the one who attacked. Yet with only a few lazy sentences, he had stolen every ounce of control.
Not only do I fail to eat him, but I even agree to bond with him tomorrow night. D*mn it, this merfolk is way too wicked!
By the time dinner rolled around, Emma finally stepped out of Kieran’s room.
She had tried on every outfit he prepared for her. She had to admit, he really knew what he was doing. Every single piece fitted perfectly. Every single one looked stunning on her.
After leaving his room, she went back to her own and dragged Marcus downstairs with her. Then she pulled him along to dinner.
Once she sat at the table, she noticed two empty seats. She looked up. “Where’s Calum?”
Silas isn’t back. But if Calum is home, why isn’t he coming out to eat?
Edric said, “I already called him earlier. He said he wasn’t hungry. He’s tied up with something and told us not to bother him. I left him some food in the kitchen, though, so he won’t go hungry.”
The moment Emma heard that Calum had dinner saved for him, the tightness in her chest eased.

When Corvin heard that Calum was busy, his eyes flicked sideways. Then he lowered his head and quietly began eating, saying not
another word.
After dinner, Corvin watched Emma head back to her room. The second she disappeared down the hallway, he pulled out Lightcore, created a brand new group chat, and dropped a message in it.
Corvin said, “Marshal Calum’s so busy today. Does that mean he doesn’t have time to stay with Emma tonight?”
It was Calum’s night with Emma. Corvin figured if Calum was so swamped that he barely had time to eat, there was no way he would have time to keep Emma company.
Everyone was in the group except Emma and Calum. When the others saw the message, they instinctively glanced toward Emma’s
room.
Marcus said, “What, you trying to steal Calum’s slot?”
Corvin shot back, “Steal? Come on. If Calum’s busy, we can’t just let Emma sleep alone, can we?”
Then he tagged Silas. “Silas, I know you’re not home, but shouldn’t you figure this out? Who’s staying with Emma tonight?”
Silas had just finished tearing into his subordinates and was still simmering with irritation. The second he saw Corvin’s message pop up on Lightcore, his blood pressure almost spiked again.
He tagged Corvin. “You’re overthinking it. It’s late. Go wash up and go to bed. You can have whatever fantasy you want in your dreams.”
Corvin replied with a single question mark.
Marcus said, “I saw Calum carrying a huge package back to his room earlier. The label looked like it was clothes.”
Corvin frowned at the screen. “If he’s not staying with Emma, what’s he buying clothes for?”
Lucien typed, “Seriously. Take a bath and sleep. Maybe Calum will explain it to you in your dreams.”
Edric added, “Yeah. Go take a bath and sleep.”
Kieran chimed in, “Need me to run you a bath first?”
Malrik said, “I’ve got some excellent sleep aromatherapy over here. Swing by if you need it.”
Corvin sent a speechless emoji.
This is ridiculous. Why are they all telling me to take a bath and go to bed? Don’t they want to stay with Emma, too?
