Emma glanced at Lucien. She paused, thinking it over. “There’s got to be more than one event tomorrow night, right? Why don’t we check out something else instead?”

She already had more than enough mates. The last thing she wanted was to stir up trouble with another male.

When Aria realized she honestly did not want to go, disappointment flickered across her expression. “Alright. Then we’ll hit a different party or find something else fun.”

There were plenty of lively events and galas scheduled for the following evening. Still, the one Aria mentioned was easily the biggest scene of them all.

They chatted a little longer. Aria made plans to come by the next afternoon so they could head to the Celestara Gala together, then she left. She had only just returned today, and she needed time to get ready for tomorrow night.

All the females attending the Celestara Gala would show up dressed to impress. Lucien and the others were never going to let Emma get overshadowed.

They had already discussed everything in their group chat a few days ago. Kieran would handle her outfit. Corvin and Edric were in charge of anything they would need outside. Lucien and the others dealt with the route and security.

“I’ll go try it on now.” She took the box and turned to leave.

The second Kieran saw her moving away, he reached out and grabbed her wrist. “Why the rush? There are two pieces inside. They’re not exactly easy to put on. Come to my room. I’ll help you. I also need to talk to you about something.”

Lucien spoke up. “I’ll head to the kitchen and see how Corvin and Edric are doing.”

Emma felt exhausted just thinking about it. She had been bouncing from one to another all day, soothing this one, then that one, and then circling back again.

Emma followed Kieran to his room. The moment she stepped inside, a rush of water swept around her and pulled her down into the underwater palace.

Before she could even process what was happening, he had already caught her and lowered her onto the warm water bed.

“Weren’t we supposed to try on the dress?” she asked softly. She lay back against the water bed, wrapped in his arms.

“The dress can wait.” Kieran let out a low chuckle. “Emma, have you figured out my secret yet?”

“Rank 14. I’m telling you, you have to be Rank 14.” Emma answered without hesitation, completely sure of herself.

After all, Lucien’s Rank 13 strength already let him rule the house like he owned the place. And even he seemed wary of Kieran. There was no way this male was anything less than fourteen. She felt certain she had nailed it.
