The speaker looked a little older than Corvin. His gaze moved quickly from Emma’s face to her and Corvin’s tightly clasped hands before he spoke politely. “Hello, Ms. Tibarn. I’m Corvin’s cousin, Dreyfus Draemont. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Welcome to Ravaryn.”

Dreyfus carried himself with quiet refinement–gracious, elegant, and impeccably polite. It was nothing like the charming troublemaker Corvin had described earlier, the type who supposedly specialized in seducing people. With him acting so proper, Emma couldn’t just drag Corvin away without acknowledging him.

“Hello. I’m happy to accompany Corvin home.” Emma tightened her hold on Corvin’s hand.

Corvin noticed her gesture and shot his cousin a triumphant look. “Emma and I still need to go see my parents, Drey. We won’t stay to chat.”

He pulled Emma forward immediately.

Hmph. These guys are all the same–perfect gentlemen on the surface, but they have endless underhanded flirting tricks. I must stay on guard.

Dreyfus simply smiled and nodded. “They are already waiting for you. Go ahead with your huntress. I’m expecting a friend and can’t accompany you over. Ms. Tibarn, please excuse me.”

Emma responded politely. “No worries. You handle your business. Corvin and I can go on our own.”

After exchanging a few courteous lines with Dreyfus, Emma followed Corvin, with Edric and the others trailing behind.

Only when they were farther away did Edric speak. “Corvin, your brother seems pretty decent.”

Polite, composed, and respectable–his impression wasn’t bad at all.

Malrik nodded in agreement. “Yeah, he seemed fine to me.”

If the Ravaryns had raised someone as simple and pure–hearted as Corvin, their family upbringing probably wasn’t an issue.

Corvin locked his brows into a deep furrow. “What made you think he’s decent? He’s the biggest flirt in the entire family. You met him once, and you’re already praising him–that alone proves how good his methods are!”

Marcus rubbed his chin and surprisingly nodded. “Corvin might have a point. People say the ones who bite don’t bark. Maybe Dreyfus is that type.”

Corvin nodded immediately. “Exactly! Marcus is right.”

He squeezed Emma’s hand nervously. “Emma, you absolutely cannot fall for Drey’s tricks. He’s the best actor in the whole family.”

“Silas couldn’t fool me–what makes you think he could?” Emma replied with confidence. “Relax. One kitten like you is more than enough for me.”

Corvin broke into a satisfied grin.

They boarded Ravaryn’s signature mech–hover car, and in no time, they reached the floating island where Corvin’s mother and father lived.

Corvin’s mother had 18 mates, all living on neighboring islands. His father was her primary mate–childhood friends who grew up side by side with a bond that ran deep.

Their floating island was even more exquisite than the others, its layered sky gardens cascading with blossoms and light. As the hover car landed and the doors opened, Emma saw several figures waiting at the entrance.

Corvin spotted them and immediately tugged Emma forward. “Mother! Father! I brought Emma home!”

Emma’s gaze fell on the two elders. It was her first time seeing Corvin’s mother.

Unlike the phoenixes of Aurelia, Corvin’s mother had a sensual sort of beauty. Her long waves of fiery–gold hair draped loosely over her shoulders, and her amber eyes were warm and luminous, soft enough to melt a person on the spot. She wore an elegant, flowing gown that somehow balanced luxury with an effortless, languid grace.

Kelly Draemont’s eyes landed on Emma, and they lit up instantly, as though she had just discovered a priceless treasure. She didn’t even acknowledge Corvin’s excited shouting. Instead, she stepped forward and naturally took Emma’s hand.

“Emma, come with me inside. We can sit and talk.”

My, this child is absolutely stunning. A hundred times prettier than the photos Corvin showed me.

Whatever pictures Corvin had taken were apparently monstrous enough that Kelly didn’t even want to comment. Honestly, that boy’s hands were only good for building mechs and warships–nothing else.
