Whatever it was, it seemed serious.

A trace of tension stirred in Lucien’s heart, though his face remained perfectly calm, not revealing the slightest hint of it.
Emma looked at him and at Calum, who had returned with him, and explained with a smile, “I just came out to see Silas off I was about to head back inside when I saw your airship landing, so I waited here for you.”
Silas came back too?
Lucien’s airship had approached from a different direction, so he hadn’t noticed Silas‘ earlier arrival.
The moment he heard Silas had returned as well, Lucien felt even more nervous. What exactly happened? Why would it make even Silas come back?
Calum had already sensed something was off during the trip back. Now, seeing Emma waiting outside the castle gates–and hearing that Silas had returned earlier–made the situation feel even stranger.
He was starting to feel like Lucien had dragged him into something.
“Emy, Silas is always so busy with work. Why did he suddenly come back?” Calum asked in confusion. “Did something happen? Or did something happen at home?”
His gaze fixed on Emma’s face, trying to read whether she had been wronged somehow. Otherwise, why would she call them all back? But if Emma had truly been wronged, why hadn’t the others notified them immediately?
“Don’t worry. Everything’s fine at home,” Emma said, taking both Lucien and Calum by the hand. “I just missed you guys, so I asked you to come back. Now that you’re here, let’s go inside.”
After all, outside wasn’t exactly the right place to settle accounts.
As Emma led them toward the castle, Lucien and Calum both shot sideways glances at Corvin, silently asking him happened.
Corvin, still sporting his new hairstyle and holding Remy in his arms, said nothing.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to tell them. He simply didn’t dare.
Emma was right there beside them. If he said anything now, getting stuck with this hilarious hairstyle would be the least of his problems.
The group quickly returned to the castle.
In the kitchen, dinner was almost ready. When Edric saw Emma return with Lucien and Calum after seeing Silas off, he walked over.
“Emma, dinner will be ready soon. Should we start setting the table?”
“Give it a moment,” Emma said, then she pulled Lucien and Calum toward the sofa.
This time, to prevent them from using their good looks as a distraction, Emma didn’t drag them into a private room for questioning. Instead, she stood right there in the living room and asked Lucien directly.

“Corvin did send me some of your photos,” Lucien said quickly, nodding without even blinking. “But they were pretty ugly and unpleasant to look at. I glanced at them once and deleted them right away.”
When he had first seen those pictures, he’d already known Emma would definitely dislike them if she ever found out. So after looking through them once, he deleted them.
Then he asked Malrik for some better–looking photos instead.
Emma extended a hand toward him, palm open. “Give me your lightcore. I need to check.”
Lucien might look perfectly calm, but she had checked everyone else. There was no reason to skip him.
Without the slightest hesitation, Lucien calmly removed his lightcore and placed it in Emma’s palm.
Emma took it and skillfully flipped through it.
There weren’t many photos in his album. There were pictures of her, but they were all the flattering ones Mairik had taken. There were also a few that Lucien himself had snapped during her daily life.
His photography skills were actually pretty good–much better than Corvin’s.
“Alright, you pass,” Emma said with a satisfied nod as she returned the lightcore.
Nearby, Corvin–still holding Remy–was stupefied. His eyes widened as he stared at Lucien in disbelief, his voice ring pitches. “Lucien, you deleted Emma’s photos too?!”
Edric had deleted those photos and even coaxed Emma into styling his hair nicely afterward. Silas had returned wi any punishment either, which meant he must have deleted them as well.
Corvin had thought Lucien would be reluctant to delete them.
He thought Lucien would stand with him and be forced to keep this ridiculous hairstyle together, But instead, Lucien had deleted
them too.
Grinding his teeth, Corvin fumed, “You guys have no loyalty at all! You were the ones who kept asking me for Emma’s photos in the first place. And now, after getting them, you just turned around and deleted them?!”
Deleting them would’ve been one thing–but none of them had even warned him. In the end, he was the only one who faced Emma’s punishment.
Lucien calmly put his lightcore back on and glanced at Corvin with a look of mild exasperation. “Isn’t that obvious? Those photos were so ugly. If Emma saw them, she’d definitely get mad. Why would we keep them?”
Corvin fell silent.
Meanwhile, Calum–who hadn’t been questioned at all–had been feeling quite pleased with himself.
