Chapter 692 A Pearl Too Precious to Accept
“Have a little restraint, please–I’m begging you,”
Hearing the delight in his voice, Emma hurriedly grabbed Kieran’s hand before it could start wandering again.
Sure enough, the higher a male’s rank, the stronger he was.
Emma swore to herself that in the future, she would never date another high–ranking male again.
She couldn’t handle it. She really couldn’t.
With his hand pinned down, Kieran looked at Emma with a wounded expression. “Emma… so now that you’ve got what you wanted, I’m no longer precious?”
Emma wouldn’t dare.
She lowered her voice and explained, “I promised Silas I’d meet him this afternoon. I’m supposed to accompany him to a banquet tonight.”
If she let Kieran continue fooling around, there was no way she’d be leaving the house that day.
So she’s going to see Silas.
Kieran withdrew his hand with a pitiful sigh. “I’ll carry you to wash up then.”
He lifted the blanket and got out of bed. The loose sleepwear on his body slid down with the motion, exposing his entire set of sculpted abs, leaving Emma speechless.
This guy really is flirting with me every second of the day.
Emma quickly squeezed her eyes shut and silently repeated a calming mantra several times before daring to open them again.
By then, Kieran had already carried her into the washroom.
Looking at her expression, he chuckled. His deep voice sounded especially pleasant.
“A penny for your thoughts, Emma?”
“Reciting a spell.” Emma took the toothbrush he handed her and answered casually.
“A spell?” Kieran quirked a brow, “You know magic?”
Emma suddenly paused before brushing her teeth and turned to look at him, smiling mysteriously. “Yeah. A spell specifically meant to capture a certain fish. Are you scared?”
Kieran looked at Emma for a moment before suddenly smiling. He stepped forward, his warm, broad chest pressing against her back. His arms tightened as he wrapped her in an embrace from behind.
“Haven’t you already captured me?”
As he spoke, he tilted his head. His warm breath brushed against the shell of Emma’s ear, his voice low and teasing. “How else are you planning to capture me? Hmm?”

Through the mirror in front of them, Emma looked at the man behind her. Her eyes shimmered with amusement as she smiled. “Take a guess.”
He’d been making her guess all this time. Now, it was Kieran’s turn.
At her words, Kieran tightened his arms slightly, the pink of his iris glittering with tiny sparks of light.
“Speaking of guessing… Emma, have you figured out the question I left you with before?”
Emma turned around in his arms and leaned back against the sink, tilting her head to look up at him. She tapped the bridge of Kieran’s tall nose and said, “I’m smart enough, of course, I figured it out.”
They had practically said the answer out loud before. If she still couldn’t figure it out, there would be something wrong with her brain.
Emma’s finger slid slowly down the line of his nose and finally rested against his thin, sensual lips as she spoke clearly, word by word. “Rank 14. From Beast God Mountain. One of the candidates for the next Beast God.”
At that, Emma paused slightly. “But judging by how things look now… you’re no longer a candidate.”
Kieran looked at Emma, and the smile in his eyes immediately overflowed. He caught the finger she was pressing against his lips and lifted it gently, placing a soft, reverent kiss on it.
“Smart female. Absolutely correct.”
Emma wanted to roll her eyes. What did that have to do with being smart? They had basically revealed the answer already.
She quirked a brow at him. “Didn’t you say before that if I guessed correctly, you’d give me a reward? Where is it?”
“The reward? Didn’t you already receive it last night?” Kieran smiled and kissed her lips lightly. “It’s me.”
Emma wanted to roll her eyes even more now. So he’s just teasing me? Even if I hadn’t guessed, I still would’ve gotten that reward!
Emma pushed him lightly, “I’ve realized something–you’re not just good at acting, you’re also good at lying.”
And none of the tricks were ever the same,
Whoever said Kieran was honest clearly didn’t know him. In Emma’s opinion, he was the least honest person in this entire household.
“Hahaha…” Kieran burst out laughing at her words, “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you.”
He opened the storage band on his finger and took out a very beautiful box, handing it to Emma. “I prepared your reward a long time ago.”
Emma took the box and opened it. When she saw the pink pearl inside, she froze slightly. “This is your pearl? No… wait.”
She examined it carefully. This pearl wasn’t the same as the ones Kieran had cried before. It was slightly smaller, but far more lustrous. It shimmered softly inside the box, and a faint pulse of ability rippled from it.
“What is this?” Emma asked, looking at him.
“That’s my Merfolk pearl,” Kieran explained.

“What?” Emma stared at him in shock. “You’re giving me your Merfolk pearl as a reward?”

“A Merfolk pearl is what your kind uses to store ability. If it leaves your body, your power weakens.” She hurriedly pushed the box back toward him. “You can’t give me this. Give me something else instead. Your pearls are fine–just cry a little more. I won’t
complain if there are plenty of those.”
