Last night, he had shed quite a few large, perfectly round pearls, and Emma had carefully collected every one of them.
“Emma, listen to me.” Kieran didn’t take the Merfolk pearl back from her. Instead, he explained gently. “Now that we’ve formed a bond, the Merfolk pearl works the same whether it’s in your body or mine.”
Even if he gave the Merfolk pearl to Emma, as long as she lived, it wouldn’t affect him.
‘The reason I’m giving it to you is that it can protect you.” He picked up the Merfolk pearl and held it near her lips. “You saw Gaellard when we were with the Ravaryns, so you know who he is. He came for you. Besides Gaellard and me, there are still three other candidates. I don’t know whether they’ll come to the Central Planet looking for you.”
Kieran was certain the remaining three would eventually come.
Gaellard wasn’t the most troublesome among them. Among the five of them, there was one person with a particularly unusual ability–someone who could quietly take a person away without leaving a trace.
Kieran was worried that therian might show up as well. If that male truly intended to steal Emma away, finding her afterward would be extremely difficult.
‘Emma, just in case, you must keep this Merfolk pearl.” He gently pressed the pearl closer to her lips. “With it, no matter where you 30, I’ll be able to find you quickly.”
For now, the Beast God still stood above them all. If Emma were taken, those candidates wouldn’t dare harm her. As long as Kieran could locate her quickly, he could bring her back safely.
Emma looked at the pearl hovering near her lips and hesitated. “If you give me your Merfolk pearl… are you really sure you’ll be okay?”
Her safety was important, of course. But Kieran was just as important. Right now, he was the strongest fighter in their household. If something happened to him
and those other candidates arrived, things would become even harder to deal with.
“Don’t worry,” Kieran said seriously. “We’ve already formed a bond. Whether the pearl is with you or with me, it works the same.” Only after hearing his repeated reassurance did Emma finally accept it. She opened her mouth and swallowed the Merfolk pearl.
At first, she thought something that looked so large might be difficult to swallow. But the moment the pearl touched her tongue, it transformed instantly into a stream of warmth, sliding down her throat and into her body.
“Alright, you’ve given me the pearl. Let’s hurry up and finish washing so we can eat,” Emma urged him.
After lunch, she still had to go meet Silas.
High above the castle, Gaellard sat on a cloud, gazing down at the structure below with a long, thoughtful stare.
Emma didn’t seem to like going out much. Ever since returning from the Ravaryns, she hadn’t stepped outside even once. How was he supposed to manufacture a chance encounter like this? Ask Kieran for help? It would be a miracle if that guy didn’t try to fight him on sight–helping him was completely out of the question.
And her other mates weren’t easy to deal with either.

Although their ranks were lower than his, each of them had fought their way up through real battles. None of them was a simple opponent.
It seemed that if he wanted to build a relationship with Emma, he would first have to find a way to get her out of the castle.
Gaellard sighed.
Originally, he hadn’t wanted to contact those people, but now it seemed unavoidable. He pulled out his lightcore and looked at a contact labeled “Mute.”
After hesitating briefly, he quickly typed a message and sent it. “Jim, human huntress. Interested?”
If anyone could bypass Kieran and Emma’s companions and quietly steal Emma away, it would be that mute–Jim Gill.
After sending the message, Gaellard waited for a long time without receiving a reply. Sitting on the cloud, he rubbed his forehead in frustration. This guy refuses to talk, but now he won’t even move his hands? Would it kill him to reply to a message?
After lunch, Emma set out to meet Silas, bringing Remy along with her. Kieran, Marcus, and Malrik accompanied them.
Corvin had business that day and had returned to the laboratory. Edric had gone to deal with matters at the Interstellar Hunter Alliance. Calum and Lucien had gone to work. And Alaric stayed at home to take care of Drake.
Once aboard the airship, Emma played with Remy while Kieran, Marcus, and Malrik stayed nearby.
Watching Emma happily entertaining Remy, Malrik leaned toward Marcus and spoke quietly. “Look how cute Remy is. Marcus, have you ever thought about asking Emma for a cub too?”
A wolf cub… just thinking about it sounded adorable.
Marcus turned his head and stared at Malrik as if he were insane. “Is your brain clogged with lava? Or are you just bored and looking to die lately?”
He’d have to be completely crazy to bring a cub into the world just to torture himself.
Malrik shot Marcus an exasperated look. You don’t want a cub?
Upon looking at Marcus‘ perpetually half–dead expression, Malrik’s gaze shifted thoughtfully. This wolf looks half–dead all the time anyway. If he has a cub to torment him a little… Just imagining it feels amusing.
Kieran, who had been silent the entire time, lifted his eyes and calmly glanced at the two of them. Then, he shifted his gaze back to Emma.
Soon, the airship arrived at the Empire’s highest center of power.
