Emma’s lightcore chimed. A message from Silas popped up. “Emma, I’m in the middle of a meeting. I can’t step out to get you, so I sent someone else instead. Once you arrive, head to my office and wait for me there.”

She read the message and immediately replied, “Got it. Don’t worry about me. Focus on your meeting.”

Not long after, Emma’s airship glided over to the Executive Department.

Even from a distance, she could already see people waiting on the ground for her. A few of them were older males, standing with the composed posture of seasoned officials. The rest were younger males, likely assistants or staff members.

The airship touched down smoothly. Emma stepped out with Remy and Marcus, the three of them emerging from the airship together.

The group waiting below broke into welcoming smiles and walked over at once.

Remy, still resting in Marcus‘ arms, leaned close to Emma and whispered, “Mama, I know that male. He’s Daddy’s assistant. His name’s Bravon. Daddy trusts him a lot.”

Emma nodded calmly. “Alright. I know now.”

“Hello, ma’am. You must be Consul Hamblin’s huntress, correct?” The male walking at the front wore the formal uniform of the Executive Department. His tone was polite and respectful. “I’m Consul Hamblin’s assistant. My name is Bravon Wilkins.”

“Hello. I’m Silas‘ huntress. My name is Emma Tibarn,” Emma replied with the same quiet politeness.

Bravon had to admit, he hadn’t expected this. Consul Hamblin’s huntress speaks so gently. Her voice is calm, almost soft, nothing like the intimidating image I imagined.

“Please, this way.” He gestured respectfully and began leading them toward Silas‘ office.

Silas‘ office was spacious. Knowing Emma would be visiting today, he had even asked someone to decorate the place a little.

However, even after the decorations were added, the room still felt strangely empty, the space so large that the touches of decoration barely filled it.

After Emma and Marcus had taken their seats, Bravon spoke up politely. “Ms. Tibarn, please have a seat. I’ll get some coffee for you.”

Marcus chuckled and gently poked Remy’s cheek. “Got it.”

“Thank you. I appreciate it.” Emma nodded with a soft smile..

“No problem. It’s my job.” The moment she smiled at him, his hands tensed so badly that he almost dropped the coffee cup he was holding.

I’m an old bachelor who spends very little time around females. This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone with a beautiful smile so gently. Still, I know my place. There’s no way she’d ever look twice at a male like me. After all, she’s Consul Hamblin’s huntress.

“If you need anything, just call me. I’ll be right outside.” After saying that, he hurried out of the office, clearly a little too flustered to stay any longer.

Emma took a sip of her coffee, then got up and walked over to Silas‘ desk.

I recognize that voice. He’s the male from the Imperial Security Agency who came to the castle looking for Silas that day–the same one who once caught my eye. From what he’s saying, it sounds like he’s here because of Gaellard.

Outside the office, the moment Bravon saw Faustus show up again, a dull headache started creeping in. He rubbed his brow with a tired sigh.

Then, he hurried over and blocked Faustus‘ path. “Why are you here again? Didn’t I just tell you earlier? Consul Hamblin isn’t here. He went to a meeting.”

“I know he’s not here,” Faustus looked at Bravon standing in his way and said calmly, “I saw Silas‘ huntress arrive earlier. I’m here

to see her.”

If Silas refuses to help, and Lucien and the others won’t step in either, then I’ll just go straight to his huntress. That should work, right?

“You can’t go in.” When Bravon heard that he wanted to see Emma, he stepped in even more firmly to block the entrance. “Consul Hamblin gave strict orders. No one is allowed to disturb his huntress.”
