After a moment’s thought, Kieran opened his lightcore and sent her a photo. “Emma, compared to Gaellard, the person you really need to watch out for is the male in this picture.”

“Who’s this?” she asked. Her eyes linger on the man in the photograph.

He’s a little better–looking than that Gaellard. But there’s something gloomy about him. It kind of ruins the whole vibe. I can’t quite explain it, but something about him feels off.

“His name’s Jim. He’s one of the heirs chosen by the Beast God,” Kieran explained. “Out of all of us, he’s the most naturally gifted. The male barely talks, though. Most of us just call him the mute. His ability lets him appear anywhere without making a sound. It’s sort of like invisibility, but on a whole different level. He can slip right up beside the Beast God without making a single ripple, and

the Beast God wouldn’t even notice he’s there.”

Kieran said, “The other two are Clarence Huff and Andre Rowe.”

Kieran is the one who’s best at putting on a show. Marcus wasn’t wrong. That whole group really is a bunch of oddballs.

Kieran nodded. “Yeah, that’s about right.”

Marcus let out a cold scoff. “See? I told you they’re all a bunch of weirdos.”

Not a single normal beast among them.

Malrik said, “Honestly, if the Beast God had just been a little less lazy back then and bothered to swing by Central Planet, he could’ve taken Lucien or Calum instead. Then he wouldn’t be stuck now with heirs that barely measure up.”

“That wouldn’t work,” Emma said. “If the Beast God had taken Lucien and Calum away, how would I ever bond with them?”

After all, she had heard that once someone became the Beast God, bonding with anyone was no longer possible.
