She turned back and gave a small shake of her head. “I just had this weird feeling that someone was watching me. Maybe I’m imagining things.”

Behind her, there were only a few upper–ranking males–no one who looked remotely suspicious.

She had only come along so Silas could make a brief appearance with her and let people know he already had a huntress. He had handled all the socializing and formalities. She mostly spent the evening with Marcus, Kieran, and Matrik, eating and drinking.

Truth be told, she did not like most of the food at the banquet. A few of the fruits were actually pretty good, though.

Before long, the airship returned to the castle.

Silas carried the sleeping Remy and handed him over to a member of the tribe to look after. After that, he went back to his room, changed into a fresh set of clothes, and left the castle again.

Emma watched him walk away and let out a heart–wrenching sigh.

He really is so busy.

Tonight, it was Edric who stayed by her side.

As Silas left, he turned to her. “Emma, it’s getting late. Let me walk you back to your room so you can rest.”

She nodded. She was starting to feel a little tired.

When they stepped into the floating elevator, Emma asked Edric, “Is everything with Hunter Alliance all taken care of?”

He nodded. “Yeah, everything’s handled.”

Hearing that put her mind at ease.

Back in her room, Edric went straight to the bathroom to fill it with warm water for her.

Emma headed into the dressing room to slip out of her gown. She had just unzipped the back when she suddenly turned toward the door of the dressing room. Nothing was there.

She frowned.

What’s wrong with me tonight? I get home, and it feels like someone’s watching me again. Could it be that Jim, whom Kieran mentioned, scared me?

“Emma, the water’s ready.” Edric’s voice called from the bathroom.

“I’m coming.” She quickly peeled off her gown and grabbed her pajamas, heading toward the bathroom.

Up in the sky above the castle, Gaellard spotted Jim appearing again. “Perfect timing. She’s back. You can make your move.”

Even with Kieran inside the castle. With Jim’s skills, he could sneak someone out without a sound.

“No way,” Jim said.

Gaellard looked at him, frowning. “Why?”

He actually said no? Has he lost his mind? Doesn’t he want the huntress? And this is a human female.

Jim glanced at him. “She’s busy.”

“What?” Gaellard almost didn’t process it. He froze for two seconds before it hit him. “You mean she’s busy? You went to the castle just now?”

Jim didn’t answer. He stood on the clouds, eyes fixed on the castle below.

Gaellard stared at him, speechless, then let out a tired sigh. “So when exactly are you planning to steal her?”

Jim stayed silent.

Meanwhile, inside the castle, Kieran had just reinforced the energy shield when a message from Silas came through.

“Just got word. Clarence has reached Central Planet,” Silas said.

Clarence? So he’s already on Central Planet, too.

“Jim seems to be there as well,” Kieran replied.

Silas sat on his airship, reading the message Kieran sent.

“Compared to Jim, Clarence is the bigger threat,” he responded.

Even if Jim actually managed to take Emma, Silas knew Jim’s personality–he wouldn’t hurt her. Silas figured that with her personality, if anything went wrong, Jim would end up the unlucky one. That was why Clarence worried him more. He simply knew too little about Clarence.

‘I’ll track Clarence as fast as I can. As for dealing with the fake fox, the real one should know what to do. Hand him over to Alaric,” Silas replied.
