Chapter 707 The City Beyond the Outer Region
Kieran stopped abruptly and turned to look at Gaellard.
The proposal was undeniably tempting.
If they could truly put Jim out of action for several years, then during that time, he would not be able to appear and steal Emma away again.
That would remove a hidden threat for the time being.
Those few years would also be enough time for Lucien to reach Rank 14.
When Jim returned again, Kieran and Lucien could join forces and give him another beating.
If it happened several times, Jim might eventually stop coming altogether.
Gaellard noticed Kieran’s pause immediately. The reaction told him his proposal had struck a chord.
“if you still doubt me, I can swear another oath to the Beast God.” His tone carried sincerity.
Playing dirty did not matter. Jim had been the one to pull tricks first.
Meanwhile, Emma had finished circling the villa.
She walked back toward Jim and glanced around the house again.
“This place looks like someone lives here long–term.” Her gaze shifted to him. “How did you get this house? You didn’t take it from someone else, did you?”
In her view, Jim didn’t appear to be the type of therian who would take someone’s home without cause. Maybe he had leased it.
The villa was modest, with only two floors. The first floor featured a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and a single bedroom. The second floor housed a spacious bedroom with an attached bathroom. Inside, everything appeared spotless. The furnishings were minimal: a bed, a wardrobe, a couch, a table, and a chair. Nothing else.
Jim glanced at her briefly and remained silent.
Emma stared at him. “Answer me.”
Every time they spoke, she had to drag words out of him.
Jim finally replied, “My house.”
He doesn’t steal it. The villa is his from the beginning. Emma blinked in surprise. “Your house? You live on this barren planet outside the Domains?”
Silence returned.
Ugh, talking to him is exhausting. Emma took a slow breath before raising her voice, “Speak!”

useful to ask why he lived there.
Ultimately, a Rank 14 elite could reside anywhere he wished, as strength granted such freedom.
Emma sat down on the couch.
Jim saw that she had sat down next to him. A slight blush appeared on his ears, but Emma didn’t notice it because the color was so
faint.
She glanced at him. “You’re not mute, so why won’t you speak? Stop forcing me to shout every time we talk. My throat will hurt.
Emma was honest in her speech. Continuous yelling could damage her voice.
Jim finally answered in a quiet tone, “Talking… tiring.”
Emma frowned. “What?”
His voice had been too soft; she couldn’t hear him clearly.
Jim looked at her and repeated himself, “Talking is tiring.”
Emma stared at him. Talking is tiring? For real?
She never expected that to be the reason. She thought he was just naturally quiet. The reality was much simpler.
“Fine.” Emma sighed softly, unable to understand his reasoning. It felt easier to respect it than to argue.
“Another question.” Her expression turned serious. “Why did you kidnap me? Was it just to bond with me?”
Jim neither spoke nor nodded.
Emma felt her patience slipping. “Answer!”
She thought, There has to be a reason. No one kidnaps someone without a purpose.
Jim finally responded, “Won’t bond.”
He knew she did not want to bond with him.
Emma misinterpreted what he meant. Relief quietly left her chest.
Then, she continued questioning him, “If you won’t bond with me, then why kidnap me?”
Confusion filled her mind. What’s wrong with him?Is he planning to kidnap me… then use me to blackmail Kieran?
Jim glanced at her.
Silence returned again.
Emma reached out and grabbed his jaw, her tone becoming firmer. “I don’t care if you’re too lazy to talk. You kidnapped me, and every question I ask warrants an answer.”

Jim blinked slowly, with an almost innocent look. “If I didn’t take you, someone else would.”
