did not want to bond.

“So… do you want to bond?” Jim asked again quietly.

Emma hesitated. “We literally just met.”

I really don’t want to bond with anyone else. I already have plenty of mates back home. Any more and I honestly can’t keep up with all of them. I’m constantly trying to keep things fair between everyone. At this rate, I’m going to give myself metaphorical tendonitis just from juggling it all.

Jim looked at her and spoke the longest sentence he had ever uttered. “You think we haven’t known each other long enough, and you’re not ready to bond with me yet. That’s okay. Our lives are long. I can wait. However long it takes. As long as we bond before 1 die.”
