Not just the Beta (Oriana and Slade) novel Chapter 214

Slade

The pack suit had not only been agreed upon, it was finally ready. He and the boys stood looking at it.They had a lot to do today, the day of the full moon, there was so much going on, but the suit was ready, so checking it out was the priority. Other things were still coming together.

It was a dark blue pinstripe suit that had a vest and tie, with a matching pocket handkerchief, that were all a dark forest green with embossed leaves on it, to represent the forest and they’d gone with a white dress shirt, to bring a brightness to it. Simple but nice, nothing too flashy, but looked formal at the same time.

They would all be wearing their suits this evening for the full moon, though even that worried him, he was worried for so many here inside the pack. That was actually why Austin and Gretta were still here. The council had decided to watch over this full moon. They would also be able to report the goings-on of it, the fall-out from all that had been done to those affected by the bespelled moonstones.

He was mind-linked to just on lunchtime to let him know the new gates were here, and they were pulling down the old ones, to come on down and watch if he wanted to. He and the boys had done just that, walked down there and watched the new gates be installed.

They were simple and elegant and nothing at all like the former gates. The new pack symbol would be forever seen with the closing of the gates It was built into the design, each half of the gate held half of the symbol, and when they came together and closed, the pack symbol was displayed for all to see.

The new gates were black wrought iron with many golden embellishments to them, even the pack symbol was designed to look like a tree with many swirling branches coming off the trunk of it. Those swirls all had golden embellishments as well giving the impression of a tree touched by light.

Every third wrought iron bar of the gates went from bottom to top and had what looked like four golden beads stacked on top of each other in the middle of the top part of the gate, and another single golden bead along the top, those beads displayed in an ascending patter across the left side then descending, down the right side.

In between those bars were simple black wrought iron bars that ran from top to bottom and then again an ascending and descending row of bars rose up and made its way over the actual pack symbol, in small golden trees, and then there was a line of those trees right along the top.

He smiled as it finally came together and was opened and closed for them all to see. It looked the same from the inside of the pack as it did from the outside. Amazing, he thought as he looked at it.It really did represent a Forest of light

Who knew Art had such talent in him? it was his design and he’d brought it down to Slade just two days after he’d named the pack, Art had set about designing what he thought a pack symbol would look like for a forest of light. Had nailed it on the head, that was for sure. Had told them he was happy to design up a gate to go with it if they wanted that

He had sat down and told Sade and his unit, that he often just been doodled on paper unconsciously and Darleh had made firm bring it down here, because she had thought it was perfect for a pack symbol when he’d told her what he was drawing. So he’d worked on it properly for half the night before bringing it down here using black and gold markers to show it in full colour even.

They’d all looked from it to Art, and he’d just shrugged, 1 like to draw He’d stated. “Gate designs specifically, over the years I’ve designed a few, and sold a few privately

They’d discussed it and after only a few minutes agreed that it was a very good representation for their pack, not a complete forest but a single tree fled with light. Maddie had sprung to his mind, and it just worked.

Art, however, had surprised them by saying “I have an idea for the gate if you’ll let me draw that up for you as well, to fit around that symbol

They’d agreed, that would be two less things for them to deal with and allowing a pack member to design and create the symbol and gate. That would show that the leadership valued all its pack members. Art was a gate guard and border patrolman, he liked his job, he always had, didn’t aspire to rank up either, just wanted to be there to protect the pack, and he said it gave him time to doodle ideas.
