Austin
He’d listened to Slade’s plans, as had Gretta, and nother of them know if things were going to work out the way he wanted them too. Though it had been himself and Gretta that had contacted the list of allied packs from Highland Hills; which now go longer existed
None out there knew what had gone on here over the past few weeks and this was not something that would be done with an sss. Due to all the questions it raised on their end as well as the other packs ends. They had no idea at this point if any of those other packs had fallen into the ways of Roman and Elise as well.
The lager packs didn’t have donations coming to them, they had kept themselves to packs smaller than theirs by half, so that they could control them. And those that they could determine were not affected, weren’t attached to any of the mating alliance deals or funneling of money into his pack, by way of paying Roman not to attack them.
They were dealt with first with a simple explanation that the Wolfen Council had revoked the Highland Hills pack for multiple accounts of coercion and blackmail, during Alpha Roman and his Luna Elise’s reign. Which had been reported by the oldest son to the Wolfen Council, in an effort to right the wrongs of their reign.
The pack had been stricken from the human world, and Slade had been granted a new pack by their king. The land rebound to him and the pack was now called the Forest of Light.
There would be an Ascension meeting in three months and Slade would send out invites. It was up to them to accept or decline. Most were shocked to hear it but didn’t ask many questions. Knew better than to, the Wolfen Council and their own King had Slade’s support. That was all they needed to know about his character.
The other packs, however, he and Gretta could not good consciousness allow Slade to deal with, at all. They got the same spiel but were told their alliance dealings were dissolved, and investigations were still ongoing, that they themselves were going to have seers inside their pack at some point to clarify many things, one of which would be, did they know, and another of were they involved and, if so punishments would be deal out accordingly.
That all those packs were now being monitored, and any fleeing from it would be seen as they were guilty and would be set up first. It was just best for them to sit still and do nothing until the investigation made its way to their pack, it could take some time, months to years even, to just go about their normal lives, less any criminal activity if they had been part of it.
There was a lot of angry yelling from Alpha’s, who thought they were being accused of crimes they’d not committed. That was why he and Gretta were dealing with it and not Slade. He didn’t need that, and they were used to it and could either roll their own aura’s down the line at them or state I’ll send someone today then, if you want to be like that, half a dozen seers do you?” and most would shut up, stop their rant and apologise.
Then there were the packs that were just under threat alone and had no mating alliances with this pack. Those packs, Slade wanted to reimburse all the money they had paid to Roman and Elise. To show them he was not like Roman, most were happy to hear it and would be willing to accept it as well, though the details of that were to be worked out later.
Though as he and Gretta set about with Slade tallying up all the funds for all of those packs; for all the years they’d been sucked dry by Roman and Elige, he could see it was going to see Slade’s pack go broke very quickly. “You’re going to be broße Slade. You will have to sell off many of the pack’s businesses, I feel, and then still I don’t think you can cover all the damages.”
“That maybe so.” Slade had nodded “But it’s the right thing to do.” he’d stated “We’ll deal with it somehow. Arrange payment plans with those pack or maybe just pay back one pack at a time, one a year, maybe two.”
“That could help you. But the debt is technically not yours to pay back. That pack doesn’t even exist anymore.” Gretta had sighed.
“No, but I feel they deserve to get their money back I don’t know any other way to compensate them.” he’d shaken his head.
“You could request the King aid you, and pay them.” Austin stated after thinking about it for nearly an hour “Then pay him back with increased taxes from this pack over the course of a decade.”
“I wouldn’t even know how to go about that?” Slade sighed.
“You, do it through us, the Wolfen Council.” Gretta odded “He’s aware of the situation. Austin and I can send through the request and let him see the amount of money that Roman accrued and see what he does. He’ll either offer aid, or not. Just war on that before you bankrupt yourself and your new pack.” she’d stated.
“Agreed.” Austin had nodded.
