Not just the Beta (Oriana and Slade) novel Chapter 217

Slade

He stood four years later, with Garrett Owens outside the front of his new packhouse. It was massive and very grand, with many green zones and trees out the front. There were no shaming posts here to be seen from the packhouse.

His Luna and her sisters didn’t like the idea of it, so they were still over where they had originally been in front of where the old packhouse had stood, which had been demolished and replaced by two apartment buildings that were there to house visiting wolves for mating balls.

They were now all going to happen up on the rooftop garden of the packhouse, which was all open to air, but still had a glass ceiling, so the mating balls and events could happen with their moon goddess watching over them still. Though she had never returned to the pack.

All his arriving Alphas would drive up right to the front of the packhouse and park under a massive awning and be greeted formally regardless of the weather. He liked his new packhouse. It wasn’t the traditional one that you saw, but neither was Garretts. He’d been to the Triple Moon Pack and it’s head office.

The ground floor of his packhouse had all the traditional things a packhouse had, a gym, pool, several age-specific gaming and entertainment zones. There was also a bar and a movie theater, and lots of seating for those visiting to sit around in There were two coffee shops both run by Maddie and her sisters.

His new Alpha’s office was on the first floor, as was Ori’s Luna’s office, along with most of the packs offices. It was kind of like a mini office building on that floor, housed everything from their office’s and the war room to accounting and the pack lawyers, the head omega’s office and other pack related jobs that needed offices.

His visiting pack’s Alphas and their units would all stay in rooms on the second floor when there, for meetings or mating balls. There were six dedicated rooms for council members on that floor as well, just in case they needed to come back.

The third floor was currently mostly empty and would be for his ranked members, Only Clay and his family, Dariah and Art, along with Lindal, Beckham and her children were on that floor at that time. Though he had plans to have all those that were in-charge of pack jobs move onto that floor. Ori was currently sorting that out with her sisters, allocating rooms for them would be announced next week.

There would be wolves of all bloodlines considered ranked members. Anika would be one of them, due to being the head Omega. Everyone here, regardless of bloodline, could now earn the position and become a fully ranked member that would live in the packhouse. Everyone was to be considered equal and could aspire to whatever they wanted.

Clay was willing to rank up through the ranking system to become a War General and was undergoing training with Vance, Beckham had been promoted to War General after they’d seen him fight and even Vance struggled to bring him down.

Dariah was the pack’s doctor now, and Art stubbornly refused to come off border patrol and gate duty. It was where he wanted to be, though he now had his own business in which he created Pack Gate designs, and the council could refer new packs to him for assistance in creating pack symbols. Dariah and Art’s mate bond had snapped into place on the full moon but neither of them had wanted to be in the ballroom that night in case nothing happened,

Dariah hadn’t wanted everyone to see her be broken down by it once more, like she had been the full moon after turning 18 and she’d not been gifted him. So, the two of them had stayed in Art’s apartment for the moon setting, she mind-linked him a simple ‘yes’ Right before he’d claimed Ana himself.

His and his unit’s suites were all on the fourth floor. They had many empty rooms up here for later on down the years, when they became Elders, there was enough room up there on the fourth floor to house three generations of Alpha Units. After that, they were moved out of the packhouse and out into the pack, relinquished their title and became regular pack members once more. That was the pack law.

His pack dining hall was more like a massive restaurant, and it was up on the fifth floor, and had a large outdoor seating area as well. So that everyone got to enjoy the view from the packhouse when having a meal, and spending time together.

“It took some doing, Garrett.” Slade smiled.

“It did. But isn’t it grand? My grandmother is brilliam still.” Garrett nodded.

“That she is. Shall we take a final walk through? Now it’s fully furnished and being used. Everyone’s moved in over the past week.” He told him and he was happy about that.

“Let’s. Your first official mating ball is coming up too.”

“It is.” Slade nodded, he’d not held any at all in the past four years while the pack was undergoing renovations. He’d taken his wolves to other packs for mating balls instead, attended nine of them every year for the past four years, so his wolves wouldn’t miss out.

They strolled inside, and he smiled at all those in here sitting or walking about, the place was officially open to the entire pack as of yesterday, and they were all, it seemed, enjoying looking about, drinking coffee or cold drinks from Maddie’s café, The Java Hut.

She’d franchised the one in Greenville, Maine, and it was still there being run by her former chef and his wife. The only thing that changed was the employee specials, and twice a year Ori and ho sisters all went out to Greenville to visit, taking their children with them. Scent masked themse as humans, and went unnoticed by others in the otherworldly realm.

Maddie had, had her specials board shipped to the back with all their belongings after things had settled here, and those girls had allowed him to initiate them into the Forest of Light. It had only taken a day after they’d Marked and Mated. Zara had been the first and Londyn had gasped “you did that without me.” and she’d hunted him down and practically demanded to be initiated into the pack.
